Positive: From the moment we arrived at the property on the Isle of Lewis, we were delighted. The cottage was absolutely spotless. Liz had made sure it was a lovely cosy welcome, even providing us with materials for the wood burner. The bedrooms were gorgeous and every one of the party of four slept like logs every night. The facilities were brilliant and Liz was attentive to any needs we might have; even advising us about all aspects of the Island (breathtaking countryside). This was by far the best cottage we have ever stayed in, I cannot rate it highly enough.

Negative: Having to come back to the Mainland.

Positive: I had the most wonderful stay with my dog. We arrived in ice and snow and were welcomed by a warm and toasty house. The cottage was cosy, functional and with outstanding views. I would and could have not asked for more - we explored all parts of Lewis and Harris and enjoyed evenings by the fire. It was a perfect base to marvel and discover this stunning corner of the world.

Positive: Very comfortable and beautifully decorated cottage. Exceptionally comfortable bed, cosy and delightful drawing room and snug. Fantastic bright kitchen which was very well equipped and a good place to work at the kitchen table. Beautiful location looking down to water. The host was delightful, helpful and generous and quick to respond to any questions. There is an excellent manual in the cottage which includes local information.

Negative: The only improvement would be to have a second bathroom (which is hard to achieve, I appreciate) or a separate toilet. A large family sharing one bathroom is fine; for two couples who are not family, it made it tricky taking turns to have a bath / shower / use the toilet.

Summary: A wonderful, elegant and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location with excellent hosting.

Positive: Location is stunning, beds are amazingly comfortable and everything you could want is provided by the hosts!

Negative: It will be even better when the garden is fully enclosed to keep the doggos from free roaming. We used long lines which worked fine though!
