Rainbow Cottage is a stone and thatched four-bedroom cottage built in 1994. Cleverly designed by an award winning builder, to be in keeping with neighbouring cottages, it has all the charm of old but all the benefits of spacious and family friendly accommodation.
Rainbow is a home from home. It's very pretty and is very well-equipped. There is a log fire, large screen television and an excellent DVD library.Many visitors return again and again to soak up the peaceful, tranquil, warm and cosy atmosphere. Well behaved pets are welcome.
Litton Cheney is a particularly attractive conservation village hidden deep in the Bride Valley between Bridport and Dorchester. It is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The nearest bathing beach is just 3 miles away at Burton Bradstock on the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage site. There is a pub in the village. There is also a delightful secluded children's playground just a minute's walk away from the cottage.

Summary: The property was scenic and pretty although smaller than appeared on the pictures, the garden in particular was much smaller than appeared on the photo. The place is nicely spaced inside and great draw / cupboard space overall but the kitchen was stacked with owners’ food which was a bit off putting and made the it hard to find space to put things away in the kitchen. Overall feeling was the place was nice but tired and needed a refresh, furniture was old and dirty and carpet was old and had many marks on it. The stair gate was broken (they did arrange for this to be fixed which was good although it remained precarious so not much use for our toddler). Overall we had a nice stay, but I would have expected a higher spec property for the price. .

Summary: Me and my family had a lovely stay at rainbow cottage. It is set in the beautiful village of Litton Cheney and only takes 10mins to get to the sea. The property was cosy and well equipped. The host Caroline was lovely and was easy to contact and always happy help. I would definitely recommend rainbow cottage.

Summary: We were a group of four friends nearing our Forties and had the most lovely weekend at Rainbow Cottage. It's very spacious for a little cottage, comfortable, well appointed and with bags of character. The sitting room, with it's big sofas, is perfect for tea-drinking and paper-reading on a winter's afternoon. Litton Cheney is a sweet village with plenty of footpaths for dog walking and within easy reach of Bridport, the beaches, pubs, restaurants and longer walks. We hope to come back.

Summary: My friends and I had a perfect weekend at the cottage, we felt relaxed, happy and at home. The location was lovely, near the pub for a meal and other great places to visit. The only issue we had, which was a major one, was that the fridge section of the fridge freezer wasn't working, our milk, butter and medication (and wine) wasn't cold. I messaged Caroline to let her know, before we left for the benifit of her future visitors. Another issue was the pillows, some of them had no cover protectors, so had stains on them. We had the most amazing, relaxing stay in Rainbow Cottage. It had everything you needed for a perfect stay. A definite recommendation.

Summary: We stayed for a week in April. Great setting in beautiful countryside which is easily accessible. Can get to lovely coastal walks in 10 mins. Fab pub in the village and easy walk to the neighbouring village too. We are a family of four and have two dogs. The cottage is as advertised but needs updating. Everything worked and it is well equipped but it is very tired and in need of a thorough clean and declutter and some minor repairs are needed. We let the owner know and was offered a discount on a future direct rebooking. The garden is quite small and the lawn needed cutting but it is secure for dogs which is appreciated. The low score is entirely due to the cleanliness and presentation of the house which is such a shame. I think we paid a lot of money for somewhere so unloved. We’d love to go back to the area but to a different property.
