Summary: Amazing house on a beautiful stretch of beach. Well maintained and stocked. Comfortable beds and nice places to relax inside and out. The scuba shop is top notch, we went out with Carlos snorkeling every day. Beautiful reef and amazing service. Having AC in the rooms was nice, if even just for the white noise when the wind was up. There are screens on everything but bugs get jn.

Summary: Coco, is an amazing house. The pool right on the beach is picturesque. We had pro's and con's to our stay. Pro's: Dive shop, restaurant and amenities are great. Con's: It's hot in Roatan, the A/C deal was a real struggle for us. I'm sure for most it's not a big deal. The sand flea's were crazy at dawn and dusk. It's like everyday you need to have some form of off or simply soft or you'll be eaten up. In late May, make sure your aware of the smoke. Oddly, I researched all over and never saw a thing about the smoke. It's a real deal. When the wind pics up be prepared that the beach will fly into the living space. The last thing to prep for at this location is that once it hits dark it is not suggested to be out and about. I heard that from a number of folks. That being said, if you are not eating at the restaurant your stuck. I know I had a few negatives, but it's a once in a life time location and house. If your prepped for the other stuff you'll have a fantastic time.

Summary: We picked this location in order to stay away from the large crowds of the other locations, and it delivered. There was enough of a social element with the community pool/restaurant/bar, but also felt like we had our own private beach. The house was beautiful! We went in August and was pretty hot, so we were thankful to have the sea air blowing into the house during the day. The AC in the bedrooms at night was a life saver. The kitchen was well appointed and we made a couple meals there. The property is well maintained. They comb the beach every morning as well as a mosquito treatment to help combat them. As others had said, there is sea grass upon entering the water, so it swayed people from heading into the water from the beach. But you can swim off the dock which was really enjoyable. The restaurant/bar staff are lovely. We had great conversations about life on the island, and was sad to say goodbye to the when we left. Note: when we were there (the slow season), they did not serve breakfast and were closed on Tuesday. The management team is very helpful. We set up a mangrove tour through them, and it was fantastic. We did have a car to get around the island. If you are to stay here, I would recommend it. Our family had a wonderful stay and are already talking about when we can go back. Highly Recommend!

Summary: Although this place is a bit out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the city, it takes about 20 min to get to West End. It was the perfect escape. The staff is amiable, especially at the bar. There is an excellent brewery within walking distance with good food and beer. We were a short drive from the attractions. The best part was a great snorkel spot right nearby that is exceptionally shallow. Also, having the dive site exactly there was great! I went diving three times (my first time after certification, so they were accommodating and patient), and my friend went twice, plus snorkeling. All the guides were excellent. The one day we went fishing, it was great to have a grill to cook on, and the kitchen staff even cooked our fish the next night. Being in the middle of the island allowed us to explore both sides, like the nightlife and this fantastic restaurant Bellas on the other end. I highly recommend this place and would come back in a heartbeat. There were remarks about bugs, but we honestly never had a problem. We just sprayed up when we would go out, but got a bite here or there, but nothing to complain about. Also, the addition of having our pool was great for relaxing after a day of diving before dinner and unwinding.

Summary: Roatan is a beautiful island filled with beautiful people. Coconut Grove is lovely home located on a private beach. Richard and Lisa at the bar/restaurant are amazing, as was our driver Marcial. They were so very accommodating and helpful. We shared many smiles, stories and laughs. Stephanie arranged our excursions and transportation, which made it easy for us. There was a lot of smoke (because of sugar cane burning on the mainland) which denied us the sunrises and sunsets. The private pool was a disappointment because the pump and filter weren’t working properly and the water became very murky. We reported it, but they were unable to get it fixed and cleaned while we were there. Despite the smoke and not being able to use the pool, we had a great vacation! Thanks again Richard, Lisa, Marcial and Steph!

Summary: House is super comfy. On a very quiet resort. Nice beach and nice to have the pool. Sea as 4-5 feet of weed at the entrance. 2 cons: far from everything so you need a car because taxi could add up. Sand fly are the worse. But they are everywhere on the island.

Summary: A great spot to stay! Peaceful, quiet, clean and great dining near by. Having a dive shop on the premises was also a huge perk! The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful.

Summary: Very happy with our stay at Palmetto Bay. This was our first trip to Roatan and we were very happy with how our accommodations turned out. The coconut grove house was perfect. Our favorite thing was waking up in the morning and drinking coffee on our porch looking out on the beach. The private pool was also amazing and we spent many hours in there each day. Although we also liked venturing over to the pool at the restaurant just to chat with other guests and home owners. The restaurant was delicious. I enjoyed the dumplings, the whole fried fish, the Cove Spritz, and their truffle fries. We appreciated the security we saw around the grounds multiple times a day. We saw them spray for bugs a couple times we were there and i found that with bug spray that i did not have an issue with bugs at all. We did a snorkel trip thru their dive shop one day and it was great. our only regret was waiting till the last day. We saw many many fish and bright colors of coral. Stephanie was easy to work with and informative about activities. We found it was a bit hard not having a car but the driver, Grant, was a pleasure to ride with when we used him. The bedrooms had air conditioner which made it plenty cool while sleeping. the main room was a bit warm during the heat of the day, but hey why be inside anyway! at night the breeze from the ocean was perfect. if i had to say one thing that wasn't as ideal as i had hoped, is that the sand is not quite as white and soft as down by the west bay and there is a lot of sea grass in the water about 3 to 5 feet from the shore. This made it hard to just jump in the ocean and go for a swim. Despite this we would still come back though. we would just schedule more snorkel trips or something of that sort! The resort itself was kept so clean and we appreciated that they recycled and showed that they cared about the enviornment.

Summary: Amazing property, sand flies are real and I would go back in a second and here is why. This jungle paradise is located at the end of a newly built concrete road with 24hr security. We stayed in the Coconut Grove Bungalow which is right on the beach with its own private little pool. As long as we stayed on our deck or on the resort’s private pier, the flies did not bother us. The breezes were amazing and kept our entire week comfortable. We loved the restaurant on property and picking mangos, coconuts, papayas and almonds from the trees within the resort. The dive shop was great and the most beautiful reef I’ve ever seen is a 5 minute boat ride away. The staff was outstanding and always available. There even a brewery just next to the property that looks like something out of β€œCaptain Ron”. West Bay is only a 15 minute cab ride away which is the tourist side of the island. Hope that gives you some additional color. As for the sand flies and no see ums, we never found anything that worked 100% but I’d go back in a heartbeat because of the cool off the beathen path experience that it was

Summary: We had the resort to ourselves. It was gorgeous. My only complaint is that there is a castaΓ±a tree above the house and the house had a metal roof. CastaΓ±as would fall and startle us and wake us. Other than that, the property was beautiful and as described.
