Positive: Clean. Friendly staff

Negative: Room had a terrible smell. Kind of smelled like paint fumes but I think it was a very very strong air freshener or cleaning product. The fumes made it hard to sleep. But couldn’t open a window because the bottom floor windows had no insect screens and felt insecure to leave open

Negative: Wet areas are not well maintained. Bathrooms, laundry and kitchen all suffering age and water damage. Broken toilet seats.

Positive: The bedroom, desk and seating area was very clean and fresh and smelt lovely. The room was spacious and the air conditioner worked well. I slept well, the room was quiet and pleasant. There were many power points and that was a real plus for charging my devices. The TV was a good size and worked OK until the last 36 hours when the 'smart card' ran out of data and I could no longer view English speaking news or channels. I was told this would not be rectified until after I had checked out.

Negative: Breakfast was very basic. I understand that there were very few people staying at the hotel at the time, but the milk was warm so I did not eat cereal and the fruit was going bad. Toast was OK. My main issue was with the bathroom - a rusty screw, dirty glass and overall black mold issues were in many places in the bathroom. This was very unpleasant. Also when I checked in, no one explained to me that the hot water system had to be turned on each time I wanted to use it. Also I was not given a second key and so when I would leave the room the refrigerator would not function and some of my items spoiled. The pool also appeared to have unclean tiles and I did not swim in it.

Summary: I enjoyed the room, but was disappointed with the bathroom and pool.
