Positive: This may be the cleanest place I have ever stayed in. The kitchen area was spotless and all cooking equipment was clean and in good condition. All equipment and appliances in the property were of high quality and we had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and peaceful and the hosts were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

Positive: Very cute and cosy Shepherd's hut. Lovely breakfast basket which consists of bread, butter, bacon, eggs and milk. Loved the extra bits - washing up liquid, shower gel/ shampoo, tea/coffee/sugar, foil/clingfilm etc. Bedding/towels provided. Enjoyed a swim in the pool at the end of the day next to the goats. Also, took advantage of the Indian fire bowl and had a lovely BBQ.

Summary: Lovely relaxing weekend in beautiful surrounding. Lovely hosts too !!

Positive: We booked as a base for a weekend of sightseeing and festivals. Andy greeted us along with two goats, some chickens and lots of rabbits! The hut is very well equipped and we really only needed to bring ourselves and food/drink. The linen and towels are of good quality matched by the quality of the fixtures and fittings which are wonderful. The welcome basket including bacon, eggs, bread, milk & butter was great along with a local paper and a chat with Andy, who advised of what was on locally during our stay and showed us how to use the appliances and shower. My husband was concerned about the shower water pressure but he needn’t have been, although compact, it was good. The location was quiet, peaceful, relaxing and the pool an added bonus for three hot and bothered travellers. There’s a Fishery with a lovely cafe within a 5-10 minute walk as well as being within a 10 minute drive of a small town with amenities and Wincanton which looks like a lovely place to enjoy a meal or stroll. We were at Stonehenge within 40 minutes and Bristol in just over an hour. There’s no tv or WiFi which we enjoyed but the phone and 3/4G signal are good unless sat at the bench seating (we were in the left hand hut as you approach) Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and whilst on residential property, it didn’t feel like it at all as there was plenty of space and no privacy issues. Perfectly tucked away within easy reach of anything you might need or want to do, we’d happily return and recommend. Thank you!

Negative: We travelled with our 15 year old who wasn’t comfortable in the bunk and with hindsight, we should’ve considered this prior to booking as he’s now man sized! It’s lovely to have windows and doors open on a warm evening but a fly screen/curtain may make this more enjoyable.

Positive: Amazing stay, such a relaxing and peaceful area. We were really impressed by the hut and the facilities. There was everything you could need, fridge, oven cooking utensils etc. The breakfast basket was really lovely. Really lovely hosts, great communication with Paula before the stay on where to find them, the what3words was really useful. The bed was really comfortable and the log burner was so cosy. Would love to stay again and would definitely be recommending to friends. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay!

Positive: We stayed one night for our anniversary, perfect location as we wanted to be close to Shaftesbury and also Stourhead for the Christmas lights. Absolutely loved our Shepherds hut, really high quality workmanship and in immaculate condition. Tranquil spot, so relaxing opening the windows, seeing the goats and chickens in the distance and only hearing the cracking of the wood burner whilst sipping a cup of tea. Paula provided us a breakfast hamper as well (bread, butter, milk, bacon, eggs) all of which was delicious and greatly appreciated. They also sourced us a moses basket for our baby. We’re now discussing opportunities to visit again, possibly when some events are on in the surrounding area and in the summer to take advantage of the pool. Thanks to you both for being such lovely hosts 🙏🏻
