Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: I had high hopes for this place, but it was a complete letdown from start to finish. I booked and paid 6 months in advance. A month before arrival, they told me there was an overbooking and I had to reschedule for one night. When I directly asked if they had sold my room for a higher price through their own website, they finally offered a one-day free scooter rental as compensation. The rescheduling cost me a lot of nerves — other hotels wouldn't confirm the new dates via Booking, and Booking's support didn't provide a local Philippine number, so I had to call them through people in another country just to fix it. Then, upon arrival: · no hot water at all — they heated water in a kettle for me, and I had to wash with a bucket, · the air conditioner blows directly onto the bed — during the day it's hot and you can't cool down properly without getting blasted in the ear; at night it's cold anyway, so you don't even need it, · the bonfire was promised for three days — never happened. It's too windy and cold here anyway, but they talked about it like it was something special, · toilet and shower are in a separate building (inconvenient at night), · it's almost always windy due to the seasonal wind direction, so you can't enjoy the beach or swim — you'll just get cold and sick, · electricity was cut off during the day on my first day — they didn't warn me in advance. They had a generator but it wasn't set up yet; but they gave me a powerbank. I was lucky I went out on a scooter, but still — they could have told me before I arrived, · the owner is into astrophotography and tries to sell you "you and the Milky Way" photos, but with this weather and wind, it's a joke. Honestly, staying here feels like you're paying for the picture — but it's ridiculously overpriced.
