The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming — we were warmly greeted with a small lunch upon arrival. The next morning, we enjoyed a generous breakfast with typical Cambodian dishes, and the hosts shared many authentic insights into local life and culture. A truly special and peaceful place to stay.

Positive: Absolute lovely location with great staff and service. Owner told me he build everything by himself with the help of his family which is very impressive. Good people who care a lot about your well-being. The owner had great recommendations for tour and tuktuk-service. Room was clean, comfortable and good for the price. Highly recommend!

Positive: The property is beautiful, relaxing, and very peaceful. With the conflict going on with Thailand, there are no problems here and we were not worried. The skirmishes are many hours away from here. Our host was so kind and sweet. He had us try a few Cambodian foods that we really liked and did not charge us.

Positive: Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The owner, in particular, is attentive to customer requests and is helpful in providing information and organizing services to make the most of your time in Battambang.

Negative: The facility is new (opened just over a month ago) and there are still a few minor adjustments to be made. Its out-of-the-way location requires the use of a tuk-tuk, which the facility makes available to guests for a few dollars per ride.

Positive: We stayed in Bamboora Sanctuary for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It has only recently opened, so we were hesitant to book it but we’re so glad we did. The cabin’s are made of bamboo and are clean and comfortable inside (aircon & wifi very good too). It’s in a very peaceful area about a 10 minute tuk tuk ride into the centre. The host had such friendly and sweet dogs which made our stay even more special 🐶 We have been travelling South East Asia for a few months now and the owner of Bamboora was the most kind and welcoming host we’ve had. He went above and beyond and helped us with everything we needed. We can’t thank him enough for making our stay in Battembang so enjoyable. We would 100% recommend staying here if you’re visiting Battembang! ❤️

Negative: Obviously with it being in the countryside it’s understandably a little rustic, for example no hot water in the shower but we didn’t mind this as we were so hot in the day and therefore wasn’t a problem for us😊

Positive: Very nice host, he cooked for us delicious breakfast, helped with finding a local guide to visit the city. The place is very quiet, in the great outdoors.

Negative: Some tuktuk drivers had difficulties to find a hotel, but it’s not a problem. Everything was very good.
