1 Bedroom House in Placitas

Mountain Retreat in the Historic Village of Placitas--Home to over 300 wild mustangs! Serene & Secluded ...it is located on a 6 acre property at the end of a road. . Stunning Sandia Mountain Views /Designer Furnishings /Artwork Throughout! This is no ordinary rental! Beautiful furnishings throughout the home with amazing landscaping outside the home. This beautiful home is available as a 2 bedroom option if you require more room. Just ask!
The house is a Santa Fe Style home with 12 foot latillas & vigas ceilings, kiva fireplaces, and saltillo tile and brick floors throughout. There is a covered Portal for relaxing, outdoor fire pit, and huge windows for taking in the big mountain views. The home has an open plan with contemporary furnishings and outstanding art and sculptures purchased from local artists and galleries. The home is built into the hill which makes it extra quiet and helps to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter months. There is a wood burning Kiva fireplace in the living room, and adobe walls in the dining room. There are juniper and piñon trees and lots of birds. Very appropo is the fact that on our street (Pajaro Azul) are an abundance of bluebirds and blue jays! In fact, at times the trees turn "blue" from all the birds!
Guests have full access to all the areas of the main house including the courtyard, and the land surrounding the property. The office, garage, and another bedroom suite or locked for privacy. There is a separate casita on the property as well but, it is accessed by its own private road.
Interaction with guests
Times have certainly changed! I now provide a lockbox with keys for guests to have entry to the property. I respect your privacy but, am available anytime by text if you should have questions, or need information.
Other things to note
We are in the mountains, and there is a lot of wildlife. You can see jackrabbits, roadrunners, quail, many different species of birds, and an occasional bobcat or even a bear. Placitas is known for their wild horses and we often see them roaming on our property. There are several herds of wild mustangs, and a herd of 11 frequents my property regularly. Don't be surprised if you are awakened by them grazing outside your bedroom window!

Summary: With all of the comforts of home and then some, this property offers stunning views of the Sandias and relaxing places to sit and take it all in. It is close to great hiking, dining and shopping, but far enough away from the busyness of civilization to truly unwind. Placitas itself is charming, and offers so much in terms of natural beauty, trails for hiking and biking, plus forest and desert landscapes for wildlife sightings and birding. We settled in right away and felt completely at home for the duration of our stay.

Summary: Owner was excellent at communicating with us. Amenities were exceptional. Property is as lovely in person as the photos depict. Quiet and peaceful! We stayed in the main house for two weeks over Christmas and New Year. In the second week, friends from home joined us on vacation and stayed in the casita. A perfect set up!

Summary: My wife and I loved our stay. The view was amazing, but the property and accommodations were equally amazing. The pictures were completely accurate, even more impressive in person. Checkin process and communication was great. We wish we could have spent more time in the courtyard, but it was too windy during our stay. We would stay again.

Summary: The rental property is as beautiful as the pictures and exquisitely furnished. Husband and I stayed for two nights and enjoyed it very much. I would be nervous bringing young kids or teens here though. So many beautiful and breakable items both inside and out. Lovely views and close to the things we wanted to see. The host was great and even let us check out an hour late to accommodate our late flight home.

Summary: We actually ended up staying in the Casita on the property. It was just completely redone and it is fantastic! Was way more spacious than we expected. Step outside and the views are awesome. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit.
