Positive: We wanted something a bit secluded- and this was definitely that! Surrounded by jungle, up in the hills with dawn views of Mt Agung (depending on weather) this was a holiday destination for rest and relaxation! We spent 5 nights- mostly the only ones in the resort- and with WhatsApp for ordering meals, felt like we had our own private chef. The infinity pool deck is gorgeous, and we spent many hours swimming, resting, and relaxing with a Bintang. Staff were fantastic, friendly and accommodating, and the grounds were gorgeous. The outdoor games space were fun with pool, mini golf, table tennis (and more) and the spa/massage room was divine - I recommend the mocha body scrub for a real treat! The menu was good for us, catering to most tastes and moods- which was great as there are no other options close by If you want a stay that takes you away from the hustle of Bali, this is a winner!

Negative: It is isolated, which took me a little while to get used to, but once I did it was easy to sink into relaxing days. 5 nights was probably a bit long, but definitely felt refreshed after! Even though there’s TV/streaming advertised - there wasn’t a TV in the room, but wi-fi is good and we had a laptop- for the little TV watching we did do - it was actually good not to have one. No cocktails (as noted in the menu) but plenty of Bintang, and we brought some drinks of our own. This is NOT a place to party, but recommend to take snacks and spirits/drinks with you if you want them. There aren’t any shops or restaurants close by (about 45mins+ to Ubud) so not recommended if you love close hand variety and convenience- but so good if you want to fall off the map for a while:)

Summary: Nothing to do but enjoy the jungle views, eat, swim and relax!

Positive: Quiet, secluded and peaceful. Few other guests, felt like had the place to myself. The staff were lovely, nothing a problem. The room had a beautiful view on the sunrise, jungle valley and pool. Gardens were my favourite part, they’re lush and well maintained and an envy of anyone into green spaces.

Negative: Nothing, I wanted a secluded jungle stay and that’s exactly what it was.

Positive: Had a relaxing 2 night stay in this resort that has recently been renamed. Its a beautiful place, we were unlucky with the weather but saw the volcano (albeit by getting up at 6am before it got cloudy). The staff were amazingly attentive - some were obviously new, but wanted to please so much. We had a lovely massage while our teenage sons played pool outside.

Negative: Some of the resort was a bit tired, eg there is a path that leads to 300 steps that we followed, but it ended with a delapidated river crossing. We were a bit confused! Also the gym was a bit grim, and the sauna was long dead! The meals were a little odd - they did not follow normal restaurant convention! You order 1 hour before and your meal is delivered in entirety (including dessert!) - maybe they need to make this clearer on the menu, and perhaps try and stagger the courses.

Summary: Beautiful resort that is recently in new ownership - a few teething troubles…but staff & location are great

Positive: This place is magical. It is intimate and small, and it is a perfect getaway. Prepare for a long ride, but that is the secret of it being genuine and restorative. My friend and I were lucky to come during the weekend when no other guests were around and we had the entire place for ourselves. A truly special experience.
