Positive: Staying and Gilded Palms was an amazing experience! First of all Yandi and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, acommodating all of our wants and needs. Using the villa's car service was also a great and convenient way of visiting Bali. While the villa is not located in Ubud centre, we found this to be the better option to enjoy the quiet atmosphere that Bali has to offer. The staff made us feel like home. I would highly recommend this stay and would definetely come again back at the villa!

Positive: I stayed here for 11 days while working remote and this is by far the best stay I have ever have. I’ve never experinced that kind of service before, I felt like a was a part of a familiy that took really good care of me 🤝 The food was also really amazing. I’ve tried a lot of restaurants in my life, but the food they made for me here is one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Also the room was really big and of cource the view was ubeliveable! The gym had every thing that I really needed and it was amazing to have the option to rent a motorbike. With the motorbike I visit a lot of beautiful waterfalls and ricefields, so the location is also really good. If you need a place to stay in Ubud for relaxation, work or traveling, this is by far the best place for you

Positive: told my host I wanted to learn some Indonesian language in Bali and he said no problem. He set me up with a computer and I had face-to-face lessons with a language teacher every morning. Then after my lessons were done the staff would spend the rest of the day talking to me in Indonesian and take me out to villages where nobody speaks English so I could practice my language skills. This was next level service! I had a fantastic experience staying here. It really felt like home. The host Yandi and his staff are amazing people who will do anything for you. The place has a beautiful energy and you feel the atmosphere of love and care from the first moment. Thank you for having me everybody. Thank you for taking care of me so kindly. Highly recommended.

Beauty & comfort: 10+ Cleanliness: 10+ Food: 10+ Location: 10+ Uncommon tours to hidden gems: 10+ Service: 10+++++ If you’re not into crowds & mass tourism, this should be your #1 choice. Positive: Beautiful peaceful place in a quaint Bali village, great if you want to see the real Bali. We wanted to have a truly local experience and wow did these guys deliver!! They took us to many fascinating untouristed sites and showed us a side of Bali that I’m sure few tourists ever get to see. Our only regret was that we didn’t book 2 or 3 more nights so we could hang out at this beautiful villa. (The guest rooms are spotlessly clean and all have incredible views of the rice terraces surrounding the villa.) We just loved the place. Pak Yandi: You’re a wonderful man. Nobody can beat your service, your kindness, and the way you show sincere interest in people! You made us feel very special. We will always remember the laughter we shared and the loving care of you and your staff! Keep up the good work and we surely will be back soon. Love from us in Perth.

Negative: I suppose you could complain if you don’t love waking up to the sound of roosters in the morning, but we loved it. It was all part of the charm.

Positive: This place is everything that a 5-star hotel strives to be but could never be. Because no hotel could ever provide the level of personal service I received at Gilded Palms. I’ve stayed in hundreds of places throughout the world and Gilded Palms is WITHOUT A DOUBT the best stay I’ve ever had!!! I was picked up at the airport by their charming driver, Ali, and driven to Gilded Palms where they were waiting for me with a hot cappuccino and German chocolate cake! How amazing is that?! From the first moment I arrived, it was like I was with “family” . . . quite literally. They were so warm and welcoming that I spent 2 hours talking with the host and the other guests before I even made it to my room!!! The place is GORGEOUS and SO CLEAN, the pool and small gym are fantastic, the food is amazing, and the tours are out-of-this-world. But what really makes this place one-in-a-million is the SERVICE. I made no plans in advance of my Bali visit and they took care of absolutely everything!!! Their secret weapon is their host, Yandi. He treated me like a brother from the moment we met. He made amazing breakfasts (waffles, pancakes, french toast, omelettes, eggs benedict, you name it), he took me and the other guests out on morning walks and to a local temple ceremony, and at my request he even took me out two evenings to Ubud – nothing was too much to ask!!! Thank you for everything, Yandi, Ali and Dono. You’re like a second family to me now – my “brothers from another mother.” I’ll be back soon, and again and again.
