Positive: The cottage is ideally located within Sutherland. The bedding was lovely and clean and crisp. The electric blanket came in handy.

Negative: Because of having to heat the cottage with a wood fire, everything smelt of smoke thereafter, even clothes we had not worn were too smokey to wear. The wood is extremely expensive and they often run out. Alternative heating in the cottage would be my recommendation. The small counter top stove/oven is only suitable to use if you are tall. A special counter should be made for it to place it at normal cooking height. A place to put all our clothing in the bedroom would have been nice. There was a wardrobe but it was padlocked.
