Completely modernized 3500 sf Victorian home with manicured grounds is an ideal family and friends country retreat, only 15 minutes from the shores of the Atlantic. This (4) bedroom gracious home with large common areas begets all guests to relax in its open and clean spaces with touches of Old World charm. Arabella's known for its idyllic green grass grounds, bountiful flower beds, and its restored air-conditioned barn designed for casual or formal entertainment, for 2 to 200 dining and dancing guests. Take a seat on top of a milk can at one of the two bars. There is plenty of room to roam on the 5 acre estate. Yet, why not spend a day at the beach at nearby Pine Point or Old Orchard? Upon returning home jump in the pool, relax on the fully-furnished patio, and BBQ late into the evening. Summary: We had a lovely time at the Arabella Estate, the grounds are perfectly maintained and the house comes equipped with so many thoughtful details. We were so appreciative to have lots of cooking essentials provided by the house (oils, spices), although we did find the oven to be a little bit tricky. Additionally, all the beds were extremely comfortable but I think there was a bit of confusion around the way they were outlined on the listing. We had a great time relaxing by the pool and found the drive to Portland to be reasonable. It's a beautiful location and would be a stunning venue for a wedding!

Summary: We had the BEST time staying at this cute, quirky house! Are you looking for an authentic small town Maine experience? Are you looking for a location which will allow you to bounce between several destinations? Do you want a friendly host and easy check in? Do you love antiques? Then this is the place for you! We chose this house for our trip with three moms and their teenage sons. The house was a great size for all of us; enough beds and space for everyone but the pool and the barn totally made the trip! The pool is heated and the deck has a fire pit and comfortable seating. The barn is such a bonus. It's an event barn for weddings etc, so it's very clean and not exactly a ‘barn.’ The boys hung out there and played corn hole etc. The grounds are beautifully landscaped; perfect for photo ops. The house is 100 plus years old but the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms are updated. The beds, bedding and linens are very comfortable. There are plenty of towels. This house is out in the country. We really liked the location. It's very easy to get to Portland, Kennebunkport, Kittery, Old Orchard Beach and Portsmouth. Here are a few things to consider when you book; none of them are deal breakers to me but it may help with planning your visit. The oven is very small, do not plan to cook big meals using the oven. The barn was shown to potential wedding clients while we were there. We were given a heads up prior to our arrival and it was not intrusive at all, but its worth mentioning. There are a lot of antiques which may need to be protected from small children. Overall, we loved the whole experience and would definitely rent this house again. If I were not already married, I would want to be married there. The pool and barn were such a nice bonus and the owners were super nice and accommodating. We just had such a great time in this house and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Summary: We had a great weekend! House had plenty of room, and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool. Philip was very responsive and made our stay very easy. Also, the renovated barn is beautiful if you are considering renting it for a wedding or event!

Summary: The Arabella Estate was a perfect getaway for our group of 8. It's incredibly private with tons of outdoor space - The heated pool is amazing and great to use morning to night. Plenty of sleeping arrangements for a group and multiple dining areas indoor and out. Easy trip into Portland and surrounding areas/beaches. To cap it off Philip was a wonderful host, great communication before we arrived and helped with everything we needed once on-site.

Summary: My family (me, my husband and 3 kids under 5) and our brother, his wife and their two kids (9 and 4) stayed at this amazing property from 6/30 - 7/5. First off, the home and grounds are beautiful and full of charm. The barn is exceptional and the pool was a delightful 78 degrees at all times :) It rained almost the whole time we were there, but we still had an awesome time. We celebrated my sisters 40th birthday while we were there and the plan was to have a Fiesta by the pool, but due to the rain we moved the Fiesta into the barn and it was so perfect!. The home is close to Old Orchard Beach and Portland so we were able to take some great days trips with the kids. We cannot say enough good things about the location, the home or the host. Everything was perfect and we didn't want to leave.

Summary: Heather and Phili's house was the perfect getaway that my friends and I were looking for to experience in Portland. We had so much fun on the property and downtown portland was just 20 mins away. Booked this property during labor day weekend and we all had the space and fun we expected. The property was clean and perfectly manicured. Great property and great hosts.
