Positive: Great shower, comfortable bed, good value especially if you use all 3 bedrooms.

Negative: There were a number of issues. Firstly the owner entered unannounced on my first afternoon - this made me very uncomfortable and, although apparently common in the Faroes, would be illegal in the UK, for example. Secondly was the issue of payment. Unlike all other bookings I’ve made on booking.com here in the Faroes and around the world, the host couldn’t take the payment from my credit card and asked for a bank transfer. Initially I was concerned this was a hoax as I’d received an email, almost at the same time, saying that the booking had been compromised online. It took me a good 90 mins to sort it out with booking.com, my bank, the owner. That was 90 mins I should have been doing more fun things in the Faroes. Lastly the flat needs a good tidy up. The towels were the hardest I’ve seen in a long time - all towels should be tumble dried. There was no empty hanging space in my bedroom so I had to move a load of clothes and bedding to a room I wasn’t using. The oven is filthy. The kitchen cupboards need a good clear out. Only providing renters 1 laundry tab and the merest drop of washing up liquid is ridiculous. The needs of the renter need to be thought through more. So, overall, a frustrating stay but all the issues are fixable if the owner puts his mind to it.

Negative: Experience with host. My stay at the downtown apartment in Klaksvík from March 14–15 was overall average. The apartment itself was great—clean, comfortable, and well-located, making it a convenient base for exploring the area. The host was initially very communicative and responsive during the booking and check-in process, which I appreciated. However, the experience was less pleasant at checkout. When returning the keys and handling the final payment, the host’s mother was not very friendly, which left a somewhat negative impression. While the apartment itself met expectations, the mixed experience with communication and hospitality impacted the overall stay.:::

Positive: Spacious apartment right in town and nice view of the Harbor. Comfortable beds and furniture, kitchen and baths were clean and had everything we might need. The washing machine is a solid bonus allowing us to travel lighter and do some laundry. The owner was very friendly and we felt right at home.
