Positive: We stayed at this apartment in Belur as a family of two, and from a European perspective, it was a pleasant experience—especially compared to other accommodations we’ve encountered during our travels across India. The apartment is located upstairs, and we found it nicely clean, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged. It has two separate bedrooms with large, comfortable beds, making it perfect for a family or group of friends. There are two bathrooms, which was quite convenient, though we only used one. The living room is large, offering plenty of space to relax, and ventilators are provided in every room—a nice touch for keeping cool, though there’s no air conditioning. The kitchen has basic essentials, including a fridge, stove, kettle, and cups. While we didn’t cook, it was handy to have these essentials for tea and snacks. The location is quiet and away from the main road. It’s a short walk (up to 7 minutes) to the Chennakeshava Temple, which was one of the highlights of our stay in Belur. However, the area becomes very dark at night, so it’s wise to bring a flashlight or be prepared if walking back after sunset. The access road to the apartment is narrow and bumpy—about 150 meters—but manageable, especially for experienced drivers familiar with Indian roads. There’s also space to turn your vehicle around at the end of the street. The host lives downstairs in a separate apartment and was ready to assist if needed. Communication in English was smooth. Their hospitality contributed to a positive experience; they were attentive but gave us our privacy. Overall, it was a pleasant and good-value stay, and we would gladly return in the future. For fellow travelers, this apartment offers a clean, spacious, and comfortable base for exploring Belur.
