Positive: I stayed at this property (5 minutes of tuk tuk from Harabana center) for three nights in August and it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were very spacious, perfect for children to play. Nice view to rice land, peackok walking around the area which let you filled in a natural place. The staff was helpful with any request. Dinner was simple but very tasty. For breakfast, you can choose between a local style option or a Western one with eggs and fruit, along with tea or coffee.

Positive: Location was beautiful and peaceful on the edge of a paddy field, wonderful to sit and watch the wildlife around. Comfortable, big beds, good aircon. Dinners were excellent - lots of very nice Sri Lankan food. New cabin was lovely, good hot water shower. Other rooms were basic but clean and comfortable.

Negative: Doors in the new cabin were all very loud and squeaky - all of them needed oiling! Thin floors between lower and upper rooms in the new cabin so all noise (including footsteps and squeaky door noise!) came through. Nowhere to put bags / suitcases so we were tripping over them on the floor... there were only 3 of us in the family room (with 3 big double beds) so would have been very difficult if room had been fully occupied. Kitchenette was nice and new, had stove but no pans, plate/bowls or cooking utensils - wanted to make the kids a quick first breakfast before early morning hike but didn't have anything apart from mugs to use. No kitchen sponges, washing up liquid or towel provided to clean up. Drinking water with meals was charged extra so note this or bring your own. Would have been nice to have fresh fruit provided with breakfast, which was quite carb-heavy. Need transport to get to shops / restaurants.

Summary: Nice place, good food, friendly staff - to make it really comfortable need more attention to details

Positive: It’s a beautiful hotel surrounded by rice fields, with incredible views, all green and peaceful. Sumali was always willing to help us, she made us a delicious breakfast and even organized the safari to Minneriya for us, which we loved, as the driver was very fun and an amazing person. We would definitely come back!! It’s magical!

Positive: Somali took very good care of us during our 6 night stay. The food (breakfast and dinner) was better than what we found in town. She made the effort to make new dishes for us every day. They were all delicious. The room was spacious and the location was quiet and charmingly situated next to a rice paddy field. The host arranged a safari to Minerya for us at a reasonable price and ensured we had tuk tuk services when needed.

Positive: The food was so delicious and the view was amazing. We got the whole villa for our selves and the service was personalized. The owner of the property took care of everything as we needed and requested. Staff were very friendly and supportive. They arranged a bbq night, a village safari and a jeep safari to see elephants as we requested in addition to the stay. The staff and the people who conducted the safaris were also very friendly and arranged everything very quickly and carefully. Also they arranged Ayurvedic treatments as we requested additionally. The treatment was very relaxing and was a unique experience with a serene environment. Big shoutout for the delicious food which was arranged as per our requests specifically made Sri Lankan style. We had one of our best gateways to a Sri Lankan village style staycation with good facilities, great food, breathtaking views, adventures and new experiences. Thank you Ama Villa for your hospitality and support. Highly recommend the place for any type of staycation i.e., family, group, friends or couples. Waiting to visit sometimes again.
