Allports Beach House on Flinders Island combines the qualities of a classic Australian beach house with a spacious Mediterranean villa.
The north-facing property is just a ten minute walk along a native bush track to the sparkling turquoise water of Allports and Emita Beaches, and a short drive to Boat Harbour, Lillies Beach and Sawyers Bay.
The sweeping views across Bass Strait are simply out-of-this-world, and along with its private location, make this magnificent holiday house a one-of-a-kind.
The stylishly designed property is set amongst bushland on a large secluded block - a mere 10 minutes to the Flinders Island airport and 15 minutes from the small, but vibrant, town of Whitemark.
The spacious, open plan living area has timber floors, high ceilings and is flooded with natural light.
Sliding doors lead onto a wooden wrap-around deck, offering expansive views across Bass Strait to Castle Rock and Marshall Bay.
The designer kitchen provides a full range of modern cooking facilities including a coffee machine.
There are gorgeous navy velvet sofas, comfy reading chairs, a large dining table and a wood-burning heater – all of which help to create an idyllic island escape.
There are two generous queen-sized bedrooms (one with en-suite) that have private access to a balcony and waterfront views. There is a third with a single and double bed.
Beds are all fitted with designer 100 per cent cotton bed linen, electric blankets and hotel quality mattresses and doonas.
A large family bathroom is off the living area with a shower and in-built laundry. Sheridan towels are provided along with body wash, shampoo and conditioner, as well as a hairdryer.
The smell of freshly cooked bread will welcome you on arrival. You will also find the owner’s free-range eggs in the fridge together with breakfast supplies for the first morning including milk, muesli, tea, coffee and condiments.
There is also an outdoor fresh water hose to wash the sand off your feet, a BBQ, outdoor dining table and picnic equipment.

Summary: Spacious, very clean, well stocked condiment provisions, high quality fittings and utensils. Every day we sat at the floor to ceiling wide windows to absorb sea, sky and mountain views. Huge variety of birdlife; green rosallas busy raiding the olive trees; saw our first fire tail. Centrally located to Killercrankie and Lady Baron. Beautiful beaches and coastal walks.

Summary: Allports Beach House is perfect. Such a wonderful location with stunning beaches close by and yet totally private. The house is clean, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is incredibly well set up with everything you need. And it’s so peaceful and quiet there. A great place to base yourself to explore the island. The freshly cooked bread and fresh flowers throughout every room are delightful touches that add to the homely feeling. Jo, June and Terence were excellent hosts and were readily available if need be. Allports Beach House would be one of the best holiday rentals we’ve stayed in.
