A spacious one bedroom cottage on a large property 6 km from Lagos and its beautiful beaches. Peace and quiet among the fig trees and almond trees, a quick drive to Lagos and easy access to the fabulous beaches of the west coast. The cottage is situated next to the main house but completely separate with its own driveway and private terrace facing south. There is a large bedroom with two double beds, a living room with a sofa bed (1m30), Wifi, a dining area with a fireplace , and a fully equipped kitchen. Every room opens on to the terrace. Barbecue available. Pets are welcome. For those who enjoy hiking in the country, the house is on the Via Algarviana link from Lagos to Bensafrim.

Summary: The hot tub which we were looking forward to using, was indoors in the bathroom and when we arrived we were told that it wasn't working. A big disappointment which spoilt the holiday. When we saw the advert there was a TV but actually there wasn't one there (also disappointing) and we think it has now been removed from the description. The parking space is unlit so in the dark we had to leave the car headlights on to see where we were going until we could put the house lights on. The steps up to the terrace are unsafe. The first step is six loose breeze blocks placed on the ground, the second is a crumbly piece of garden wall and from there you step onto the grass before stepping onto the terrace. There is no handrail or anything to hold onto. The villa was spacious but basic, there were no bed headboards, stiff sundried towels, used dishcloth and sponge, missing wardrobe door, slippery shower floor when wet with no safety mat and shabby outdoor furniture. There is a solar farm next door which we didn't expect and it spoils the view. The owner was welcoming, friendly and helpful so it was hard to complain, plus we had nowhere else to go so we had to live with it.

Summary: We spent three weeks at this wonderful place with our dog. Mary is the perfect host, very friendly, caring and helpful. Our dog enjoyed the company of Leo and Tommy. It is the perfect place to relax and starting point for daily hiking activities around the southwestern algarve.

Summary: The house was very beautiful and quiet. Mary is living in the house near by and was super friendly and caring. We had everything we needed to cook something in the big kitchen and then eating on the terrace with a nice view over the rough landscape. It’s a very special place if you’re searching for a place to relax and watch the stars at night. Absolutely perfect!

Summary: Lovely quiet holiday in the country, and still on the Algarve, not an English breakfast or fish and chips in sight, the accommodation is great and suited us well, plenty of room to site out on the patio's and enjoy the sunshine. It's a five mile drive to get to the shops so a car is a necessity, there is a little Portuguese cafe / bar just down the road that does nice coffee. Mary the owner who lives next door can not do enough for you. We had four weeks there and can not wait to go back. Thank you Mary for looking after us. Peter.

Summary: We stayed at Mary's place for two weeks in April 2022. What a lovely place, perfect for everyone who wants to let their mind wander and relax. Beautiful landscape and a lot of beaches even on the west coast are easy to reach. If you travel with dog, there is nothing better. The huge compound is totally enhanced and your dog will have Mary's dogs as companions. The cute donkey will enjoy the carrots you offer him ;.-) Mary is a wonderful landlord/host, always helpful and caring and leaves you to yourself if you don't need anything! Hundred per cent recommendable

Summary: Mary, our host , was helpful and obliging. Leo, the golden retriever, was a bonus - our dog's best friend from morning to night. Accommodation - well equipped with good wifi & satellite TV. Cold for our winter stay with just a log fire (you need to buy the logs from town - €90 for the month). We bought an electric heater. The house is private and the overall setting is peaceful. Minor points: Few things need attention - broken locks, lighting system in the bedroom. Also pictures and plants to give a more homely feel. Nice if the grass on the driveway had been cut. There is a messy network of electric fencing in front of the property (not beautiful) that discourages walking around the ample property. A replacement post and rail fence would be wonderful. Overall we had a great time.

Summary: Immediately we felt in love with this place, a very nice and cosy house surrounded by lovely animals, especially the donkey and very warm heating host, Mary! We enjoyed our two weeks stay very much there. Please watch out for the incredible night sky full of stars when sitting outside of this house on the terrace! Absolutely recommendable place🌞
