This is one of 2 master wings in a beautiful hand-built home on a 5-acre apple orchard. We are 4 miles from the ocean, but the last mile is our driveway, so there is a real sense of seclusion. We built the house with another couple, so the house has 2 private master wings. Our partners moved to be closer to their grandchildren, so their wing is now available.
The master bedroom is quite large. It has a king size bed and a couch that becomes a queen size bed. Separating the beds is a gas fireplace. The 2nd bedroom has a double bed and a large built-in desk. In the same space, but separated by a room divider, there is a partial kitchen, including an under-counter refrigerator, microwave, induction burner, toaster, and kitchenware.
The enormous bathroom is shared by the bedrooms. It has a double vanity, a private toilet room, a 6 foot by 6 foot walk-in shower and an over-size bath tub.
The bathroom and the 2nd bedroom open onto a private deck. There is a gravenstein apple tree over-hanging one end of the deck. If you come stay before mid-August, you can pick fresh apples from the deck!

Summary: The property is exquisite. My son said he had the best shower of his life there. The entire home is spacious and very comfortable, with everything you need handy. Our hosts were very communicative and gracious, even giving us a tour when we arrived later than we expected to. We only wish we had time to stay longer, but we would definitely return!

Summary: My husband and adult son stayed here for four days and three nights. I chose this place because I knew we had a hectic schedule with moving my son home for the summer from Santa Clara University and celebrating my daughter's graduation from UC Santa Cruz. Geoff's place is conveniently located in Soquel, close to Santa Cruz, but away from the summer crowds. While the one-lane mile drive to the location can be a little precarious, it also lends itself to a pleasant day hike once you are settled in. We were rewarded with multiple sites of a doe and her baby, along with up close views of beautiful redwoods. Geoff is a wonderful host and available to talk about his property and display the woodworking and tapestry artistry created by him and his wife. At the same time, he gave us plenty of space to explore his property that is adjacent to a creek and a summer camp. It is more of a "rest and stay" place than a "come and go", so I recommend to bring/purchase most of your provisions before you arrive. Overall, Geoff's place fit our objectives and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Summary: We were there on a sibling gathering of 5, 50+ year olds. Just a private night together after the passing of our eldest Sister. Reminiscing, looking at childhood photos. Santa Cruz was a family weekend thing, as we were growing up together in San Jose. Even revealed some family secrets. It was perfect for us! My only regret was that in our busy Memorial Events schedule is that we, as a family, couldn't spend more time there. The surroundings were so peaceful and gorgeous.

Summary: The property is beautiful. It’s so quiet. You can see the stars. You hear all the owls and frogs at night. They’re not atrociously loud, it’s very soothing to fall asleep to. The beds are very comfortable. My favorite was the bathtub and the apple trees. This location is remote and although you cannot locate it on GPS, it’s still worth the stay. Geoff is very helpful and I never had any issues getting a hold of him. I would definitely stay again.
