A must-do during a summertime stay is a trip on the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Miniature Steam Railway, which passes the end of the garden – it’s a great way to see the delightful Kent countryside, and the station is less than 0.5 miles from your front door. Visit Dungeness, 10 miles, with its RSPB nature reserve and the renowned Derek Jarman’s House and Garden, or go on safari at Port Lympe, 6 miles.
