Positive: Ideally placed for Beverley.Clean and comfortable well provisioned with lots of space

Negative: Not a problem for us but there are lots of very steep stairs in house over three storeys so not suitable for people who find stairs difficult

Positive: Location was ideal. Close to the station and a short walk to the town centre. Parking was good at the rear of the property. Everything else was good and property was very spacious and comfortable.

Negative: Shower water was a little cold and the cubicle was very small. I'm a small man and it was cramped. The extractor in the bathroom was very noisey so disturbed sleep.

Summary: Excellent, everything thing we wanted, even the weather!

Positive: Basically a nice house but let down by a lack of cleaning and slow responses by Sykes Cottages. The double beds are comfortable, the single not so much. Plenty of seating in the sitting room but 7 people couldn’t sit around the small kitchen table. The big problem is that it wasn’t properly cleaned before arrival. There were what looked like bloodstains from a meat joint in the bottom drawer of the freezer; baking trays in the oven - one had crumbs and melted cheese on; there were bits of dried rice in the microwave and an empty mini shampoo in the shower. There is a cupboard full of herbal teas but no bin bags or dishwasher tablets. I didn’t realise I was booking with Sykes Cottages. They are very slow to answer questions and you can’t speak to anyone, just send sms messages. And then wait, and wait. Unfortunately Booking.Com don’t let you know in advance that the booking is with Sykes, but I will certainly check before booking anything again.

Summary: Nice house but not properly cleaned - and Sykes have poor customer service

Positive: The location was good and the owner was very helpful prior to our visit around parking. The house was clean and well equipped.

Negative: There was no information about how to use the cooker, heating etc. also the fan in the upstairs toilet is noisy.

Summary: The house really worked for us and the location was good. Any issues we had were only minor.

Positive: House was lovely, well stocked and spacious. Very clean, comfortable, and really close to town. Perfect for what we needed.

Negative: The property was hard to find when you haven't been there before as the postcode doesn't take you directly to the front door. Some more direction once people have paid and are due to check in would be really helpful.
