Positive: * location- v peaceful/private. Great base for walking the Yorkshire Wolds. There is a village pub- lovely steakhouse. Also petrol station with well stocked shop. Everyone v friendly. * facilities - well stocked kitchen, complimentary sugar, tea, coffee, dishwasher tabs. Lovely bathroom with deep bath and powerful shower. Lovely flat garden accessed through bifold doors which was v secure for our dog. Although we didn’t use …shed with barbecue, loungers and place to store bikes. Roomy comfortable bedrooms . Comfortable lounge area. Also contact details for owner who was very responsive and easy to contact.

Negative: V difficult to find fault but the following would have improved our visit: * blind to skylight in the bedroom. It’s light at 4 ish so can be distracting *curtains in addition to blind in the other bedroom for the same reason * a freezer for longer stays * a choice of pillows as one of us struggled with the ones provided but realise this is a v personal choice * slightly later checkout for cleaning and stripping beds We were lucky to have fantastic weather but there is underfloor heating and a log burner so I imagine that it is v cozy in the colder months. The guest book certainly seemed to support this with return visitors. Would love to return if we are in the area.

Summary: Fabulous- didn’t want to leave!

Positive: Loved being in the woods and seeing the wildlife, especially the deer. It was so quiet and peaceful. All of my guests were complimenting the quality of the bedding. The kitchen was well stocked and well labeled which was greatly appreciated.

Negative: It would have been nice to be able to utilize all the offered amenities, we just were not on the property during the pool season at no fault of the owners or the resort.

Summary: It was a great place to unwind and enjoy being with family.

Positive: The property is gorgeous, in a lovely and peaceful area. A Very comfortable and beautiful sitting room.

Negative: Collection of the keys was not as straightforward as it could have been. Instructions were not very clear. It also seems a little unreasonable not to be able to ‘check in’ until 4pm, and then having to ‘check out’, by 9am. This made it a little difficult to relax the night before, and to be able to fully enjoy the evening.
