Situated just outside the small village of Old Leake where there are two pubs, a supermarket and children’s play area. Sheepgate Equestrian Centre is 2 miles away, where national dressage competitions are held. The local RSPB nature reserve at Freiston Shore is 5 miles away, whilst Leverton to the south has a cafe, village shop and pub. There are many country lanes around the site which are ideal for walking and cycling. Beach 14 miles. Guests can enjoy fishing in the lake (licence needed). Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Summary: Nice little cottage, very comfortable. Fishing good in the pool outside although it is not the most picturesque as they seem to be building more accommodation around it. The lakes in the other section by the log cabins are much nice looking. One complaint would be that the cottage was cleared of absolutely everything edible so there was no salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, nothing. So make sure you bring everything with you.

Summary: The cottage was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The fishing was great. The owner very friendly and helpful. The one criticism would be that the bedroom was very small and the bed was only accessed from one side. Great place to go for a relaxing break. It was quite remote but there was a Co-Op store nearby and also a nice pub a couple of miles up the road, The Bricklayers Arms, which had lovely food and was very good value. We had a great week.

Summary: We had a VERY relaxing break, Rachel and her Father were excellent hosts, the fishing was superb (so I'm told by my wife) everything you needed for this type of break was there- Plenty of hot water for a shower, nice and warm accommodation, the washing machine was the real bonus, no smelly clothes to take home after a weeks fishing. Plenty of local pubs (Batemans) nearby, decent CO-OP for those essentials, my only gripe is the fact that access to the swim(s) can be a little difficult if ground is wet, could you cut in a set of steps in the bank, similar to the opposite side, this would make access easier and would also reduce erosion of the bankside as it would be only 1 point of contact. We had a wonderful time and plan to visit many times in the future, a little oasis in Lincolnshire.
