For those wishing to spoil themselves Coniston Cold Hotel, 2 miles, offers spa treatments in luxurious surroundings, together with clay pigeon shooting, off road driving, all topped off with a restaurant with spectacular views over a man-made lake. Summary: Beautiful cottage in very pretty location by river, close to shops and other services. A few too many internal stairs and slightly tricky access meant it fell short of perfection! Also it was almost too gorgeous to live in, we were terrified of breaking something or making a mess!

Summary: We had such a lovely few days away, peaceful and quiet. Beautiful location, loved waking up beside the river. Bed was comfortable & had everything in the house that you would expect including towels & hairdryer. The lady that owed the tea room opposite where we were staying was lovely. Everyone we spoke to was really friendly. Some lovely little villages to go to. Loved seeing Janet Foss & another waterfall very close by.

Summary: Just a fantastic place to stay. Location is perfect and there is absolutely everything needed for a perfect stay. We would go more often if we could but it is always fully booked!
