Positive: Very nice and cozy apartment. Outside the big cities, surrounded by nature. The host was really nice and helpful. There was no shower as already mentioned in other comments but for our 3 night stay we managed. You need a car to go around.

Negative: Probably the shower situation can be overwhelming if staying for too long but personally I enjoyed our stay.

Positive: Great little house in a peaceful rural village! Everything was sparkling clean and I loved the use of wood in the house which made it feel soft and warm. House was super spacious and although the kitchen area was very small (even by Japanese standards) the house was very thoughtful in providing lots of tools (aluminium foil, cling wrap) to make cooking and cleaning easier. We especially loved the view from the room which had a good view of the mountains out of pretty much every window (the best was from the toilet!). I especially loved the house in the mornings with the sun is shining in through the big window and the mountains appearing from the morning mist. We also took a stroll around the village one morning and loved the peaceful rural vibe. There is also a state-of-the-art rice mill nearby that interested my architecture buff of a husband! We didn't have much opportunity to interact with the hose (who lives in the adjacent house) but she was friendly and we had no issues checking in. The host also has a very cute cat (who refused to interact with us...😞)

Negative: As mentioned many times by the other reviewers and known to us before booking, there is no bathroom in the house. Omachi was an Onsen town so it was not a problem for us for a 5 night stay this time. It may however grow tired on you if it had been a long stay (especially in the summer, I imagine). Also the kitchen and the cooking pots and pans were really quite small so while I usually love cooking, I found it much easier eating out this time.

Positive: We really enjoyed our three-night stay in this beautiful and cozy cottage surrounded by gorgeous mountains and fields. It was very clean, really well furnished, and the smell of wood provided the perfect vacation feeling! The essential oils were also a nice touch! And the views from the window made it difficult to leave the cottage itself. But there is so much to explore around!! It's the perfect base to see a lot of Nagano, and we are looking forward to coming back and exploring more! The kitchen is sufficiently equipped and we enjoyed making some dishes with the vegetables we bought at local roadside stations. The futons were really comfortable, and even though there was no air conditioning, the fans worked well, and the Nagano summer nights were much cooler than what we are used to, so we had no problem sleeping very comfortably. Really looking forward to staying there again and exploring this part of Nagano in the other seasons as well.

Negative: There must have been some sort of a glitch with Booking.com when I booked this cottage, as one of my filters was a "Private Bathroom", and the cottage does NOT have a shower or bathtub. I don't know how it didn't get filtered out. There is a toilet (and four sinks), but nowhere you can wash your whole body. I had a bit of a panic about it initially, but there is an onsen area just a couple of kilometers away, so we managed just fine. But, I do think that there should be some sort of information about it in the property description for future visitors.

Positive: The staff is very kind and effort during our stay she taught us about places and how to go there. The place is also good because there is a nice view every where. it was a relaxing place to stay.
