Positive: Although remote (see 'What didn't you like'), the location is great for whale spotting from the porch and within the house.

Negative: 1) The hot tub is a disgrace to the Icelandic bathing culture. The drain makes so much noise that it is absolutely unpleasant to be in or around it when it is filled. 3) The owners don't react to messages during the weekend. We arrived on Saturday, did not receive any reaction until Monday afternoon when someone was at the door unannounced. No reaction whatsoever via Whatsapp or Booking.com to our messages. 3) A geothermal power plant is being built basically on the cottage's doorstep. Noise is not a hinder indoors but the construction site (and future power plant) is now the center piece of the view from the porch and obviously there isn't much left of the natural quiet when outdoors. 4) Location is isolated. Not necessarily a negative point but good to keep in mind. Although the cottage is right next to the water, there is no access to the water. There are also no walking paths or other 'entertainment' options at or next to the property. You need to take the car.

Summary: Overpriced given the shortcomings. Presentation is not true to reality.

Negative: The light bulbs were a very dim amber color and the coffee station/fridge didn’t have any lights at all. That corner was completely dark.
