Negative: There were some construction works around the property and can be a little noisy if other rooms are occupied.

Positive: Staying at Heitan was a lovely experience allowing a calming and relaxed getaway from Xiamen city. It was lovely to drink tea under the trees in the courtyard and to bask in the atmosphere. The staff at the hotel were also very friendly and helpful, they kindly met us at the pier from where our ferry arrived and helped direct us to the hotel. As it was winter solstice, they also kindly made us delicious tang yuan to celebrate.

Negative: Ridiculously high price. This is much, much higher price than the similar hotels around. I should cancel my booking and book a hotel myself on the island. I feel I had been taken advantage by this hotel and booking.com.

Positive: The hotel is situated on a gorgeous island just a short boat ride from Xiamen. We were given a fantastic room that far exceeded our expectations and really made our stay on Guyangyu special. The reception staff took care to meet us from the boat and communicated via WeChat very well, they even recommended an excellent restaurant. We will return.
