Positive: Very comfortable beds and a good location for what we needed and the host, Stewart, was very responsive and was happy to accommodate a small family gathering prior to a funeral.
Negative: The property was clean and the bathrooms were spotless, but overall it felt more like staying in someone’s personal home than in a dedicated holiday rental, which did not quite suit our preferences. We found a number of food items and condiments left in the fridge, including many opened items, and it did not appear to have been fully wiped out before our arrival. In the upstairs en suite, there were several bottles left in the shower enclosure, which we found a little off-putting. There were also several reed diffusers around the property, and although we moved them into one room near a window, the scent remained very strong throughout our stay. The outside bins were already full when we arrived, so we ended up taking our recycling and bottles home with us. We also noticed that there was no mirror in the upstairs bedroom, and when going up the stairs we spotted what appeared to be a sanitary item under the bed, which was concerning. Clearer directions to the property would also have been helpful, as access via the Kirkintilloch Health Centre was not immediately obvious. More generally, this accommodation was simply not the right fit for us, as we would usually prefer a more neutral holiday-rental feel and the convenience and privacy of a key safe rather than an in-person meet and greet on arrival and departure

Positive: We had the pleasure of staying at Stewart’s beautiful home and had a wonderful experience. Stewart was an excellent host—attentive, responsive, and quick to help when we had questions or an issue with the washer. The home was comfortable, well-maintained, and the beds were incredibly comfortable.
Negative: My only suggestion would be to provide a guest book with information about the home and recommendations for local restaurants, attractions, and other helpful house tips for visitors.
Summary: Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book with Stewart again.

Positive: Stewart is an amazing host with an amazing property - everything we could think of was provided including a trip to the shops to buy essentials for our arrival so we could enjoy tea and toast after the long drive! The facilities are literally home from home, a great en-suite bath and shower room to the master bedroom upstairs, and separate shower room and toilet downstairs making the property so flexible for different types of guests. A beautiful living room, fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room, outside table, chairs, sun loungers and awning and secure, gated parking completes the property. Sound bars, televisions is almost every room and distributed Sky TV mean that entertainment needs are taken care of, and easy access to the M80 and train stations at Lenzie & Croy mean that travel throughout Scotland is easy.
Negative: We didn't find anything that we would make better. Woodhead View really is a home from home with everything supplied and a great host who is super helpful.
