Once the old calf-house, this charming semi-detached traditional Yorkshire stone barn conversion is set in the tranquil village of East Hauxwell, just 8 miles from the popular market town of Leyburn, boasting wonderful views over open farmland, this is an idyllic location to escape to the country.
Winsbury Cottage is a romantic hideaway for two, perfectly equipped to give you that home from home comfort whilst enjoying your stay in the Yorkshire Dales. Set within a working farm and surrounded by open fields, this cosy cottage invites you into a charming open-plan sitting/dining and kitchen area including a Smart television with DVD player for cosy film nights in. The perfectly placed dining table allows you to take in the incredible views over dinner, which can be created in the bijou kitchen, fully equipped with modern conveniences along with a breakfast bar. With underfloor heating from a ground-source heat pump, you can be sure of a warm Yorkshire welcome, whatever time of year you visit. Climb the stairs to the pretty bedroom with an inviting king-size bed and en-suite shower room. The wonderful view awaiting you from the bedroom window is truly one to savour.
Outside, listen to the birdsong and take in all that nature has to offer in the south facing, private garden with seating area, barbecue and an extensive lawn, this is a magical spot.

Summary: Such a peaceful place to recharge. It would make an ideal location to write a book and let the mind wander with the views. Such lovely owners who really care about making sure guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay in a clean and homely environment. Will definitely be back.

Summary: They call Yorkshire "God's Own Country" and this must be "God's Little Acre" in the heart of it and ideally situated for touring the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Ripon, Harrogate and even the coast at Whitby. We had a fabulous stay here, Mary and Andrew are very welcoming, the cottage is beautifully renovated and has more than you could require for even a lengthy stay. The bed was really comfortable, the ensuite bathroom had everything we needed and the views outside magnificent. Go there! you won't regret it!

Summary: Quite simply the best self catering cottage holiday one could have. Perfect for couples. Winsbury Cottage is beautifully decorated. The views are stunning and the location is a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle. Mary and Andrew are exceptional hosts. The kitchen is equipped to a high standard and household essentials are generously stocked. Winsbury Cottage is clearly loved by Mary and Andrew, who take great care to make guests welcome. We are already planning our return visit.
