Summary: A well located hotel in quiet location. Ample car parking, some with electric car charging points. Easy to find reception entrance and greeted by a pleasant and efficient member of staff. Every where looked relatively new and clean accommodation was on the first floor accessed by stairs. Rooms were numbered clearly and the Smart key entrance was easy to use. Bedroom was well presented with a large comfy bed, 2 easy chairs and dressing table/desk, tea & coffee set on a tray. The only criticism was the light coloured carpet which had large boot print marks and other stains. The bathroom was pristine with a sparkling shower. The fork and furrow restaurant & bar had a relaxed easy going atmosphere offering a good selection of wines, beers and spirits and excellent food, all 7 of us had great food and excellent service from the 2 members of staff on duty. They made our evening most enjoyable. We will be returning as we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Summary: Room was excellent in all respects. Reception was friendly. We could only reach the breakfast room by walking across the car-park, which was not pleasant in the February weather, but the wide selection and generous portions of cooked food available for breakfast add to the overall good value for money offered by this hotel. Having smaller appetites, we would have liked to see some bread or toast alongside the jam and butter on the buffet table or at least to see them mentioned on the menu, also some cereals other than granola types. The pop-style background music at breakfast will not be to everyone's taste and could be quieter.

Summary: Had to cancel as the restaurant is closed on Thursday (website says it is open). They contacted the sister hotel and moved my booking.

Summary: Room was excellent. Such a shame I was forgotten about in the restaurant. 40 minutes from ordering then brought my main before my starter. Then another 10 minutes wait fat starter. Then my main course which had obviously been kept warming!

Summary: Another really comfortable stay in quality surroundings and a warm welcome from the staff. The Hart Suite is cosy and welcoming with great views over the surrounding countryside. My first choice of hotel when heading north or south as it’s very conveniently located near the M1 - but feels much further away thanks to its tranquil location. I look forward to the next time…thank you. MW.
