This sweet, shingled cottage puts the ocean front and center, with an elevated, panoramic view from every window of the great room. You’ll find it easy to kick back and relax in the plush living room complete with wall-mounted flat screen TV/DVD/Blu-ray, gas fireplace and the ever-present sound of surf. You’ll enjoy watching for whales from the dining table and seeing pelicans and other seabirds glide past as you do the dishes in the fully equipped kitchen. Even the laundry room has a fantastic ocean view! The two queen bedrooms are on the quieter eastern side of the home. You’ll love the sunny, private courtyard entryway, and the western deck is transparent but wind-screened, with dining furniture and Adirondack chairs. The access to beautiful Gleneden Beach is right next to the driveway, so you can wave to your guests from the porch as they run down to the water. Gleneden Beach puts you between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay and Newport for some wonderful day trips, but you may just enjoy walking along the ocean’s edge and exploring the town of Gleneden Beach. Golf and a world-class spa are nearby at Salishan, a coffee-house/wine bar called the Red Roof and delicious dining at the Side Door Cafe. Summary: The house was snug and cozy with charming decor and a delightful lighthouse motif. The view from the living room windows is immersive and provides absolutely stunning sunsets (weather permitting). The sofa, chairs and ottoman were very relaxing and the gas fireplace made the room warm and comfortable. The beds were quite comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked for our needs. We certainly enjoyed the nearby restaurants, such as The Side Door Cafe, Tidal Raves, and the Otis Cafe. The beach was just steps away and was enjoyable for strolls in the morning and evening. Also, we had a great time one afternoon hiking the God's Thumb trail. The neighborhood was very quiet and secluded. The communication with our host was clear and informative. We would love to stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Kristy’s Kottage was the find of a lifetime. The ocean view is really as spectacular as pictured - we sat for hours every day and night with the windows open, enjoying the cool breezes and crashing waves. The home is pristinely clean and modern, while cozy and comfortable. We had everything we needed but knew we could contact the property managers if not. The location was ideal for our vacation. We drove to Cannon Beach one day and were so happy to realize that our home base was more isolated, away from the crowds. Favorite activities were walking the beach, and kayaking Beaver Creek (shout out to our fantastic guide Audrey from Ossies Surf Shop in Newport). Favorite meals were Clearwater Restaurant in Newport (complete with sea lion entertainment!) and Pelican Brewing Company at Siletz Bay. Best chowder was a seafood mix at Side Door Cafe (5 mins. from the house). The Tillamook Creamery was fun, free and yummy. I can’t say enough great things about the rental/experience, and highly recommend Kristy’s. We hope to visit the area again with a bigger group and would work with A-1 to find the right property. The only challenge we encountered was the drive to and from the Portland airport; it took longer than our mapping indicated, so consider factoring in extra travel time if you’re using PDX.
