Positive: Perfection is the word that I wound use to describe the property and its experience. The property’s keepers are meticulous down to the smallest of details in providing an exceptional stay. The property is serene, has a remarkable ocean view, and the home accommodations are immaculate. To detail…we loved everything about the property. The firepit, the indoor fireplace, the spectacular view, availability of appliances for cooking, refrigerator for storing food, dishwasher, washer, dryer, and every other small detail that was thought out for their guests. Beyond grateful for the stellar guest service.

Negative: There was absolutely NOTHING NOT TO LIKE! The property is LOVED! This is one of those that you wish to never leave.

Summary: Memories to last a lifetime…cannot wait to visit again.

Positive: Location was absolutely amazing. Private, quiet, beautiful. Wood fireplace outside, gas fireplace inside. Not a building or house light in sight when sitting by the fire at night! Clean and comfortable accommodations. The younger couple in our group could walk down the stairs to the beach (stairs were too steep/uneven for elderly couple with bad knees/balance). Also nice to walk up the driveway and around the point. Enjoyed sitting outside, watching red squirrel pups skitter around a nearby tree, a seal patrolling the cove, ducks and cormorants, a bald eagle and osprey, and lobster fishermen going about their day. Wonderful lightning bug display in field across street from cemetery near main road. Seals leaping in another cove nearby. Short drive to the state park beach/trails and to restaurants. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean/nice. Mud room is very useful, too, both for containing shoes and keeping bugs out. Dehumidifiers worked well.

Negative: Some small tweaks would make an already wonderful property perfect. The white outdoor lights/security lighting really interferes with night vision/star viewing. We were excited by the remote location and lack of city lights and hoped to have a very dark sky...but we could not turn off the lights on the outside of the house. The best we could do was walk down to the beach and stand near the embankment to try to block the light from view. Perhaps some infrared security cameras would solve this problem. It seems like a major missed opportunity to keep the night skies dark in this area. (We could not see anyone else's lights, but they could likely see ours!) Also, we were disappointed that there were no screens in the side windows by the dining table. We could not hear the waves or birds while eating breakfast, which made the home seem isolated from the nature around it. To fully enjoy the surroundings, we spent as much time as possible outside, but being able to open the windows in the morning would have been wonderful. Our elderly couple also wished for a chair in their bedroom, to use while getting dressed. (They borrowed a counter stool from the kitchen for this purpose.) For the upstairs cove-side bed: the smoke detector could use a piece of black tape over the green blinking light. You wouldn't know it if you weren't sleeping there, but the blinking light shines in a beam directly down on the pillow and is quite bright. Not so much a problem for side sleepers :). The open loft makes for noisy mornings, so if sharing with another couple, the early risers should locate themselves upstairs.

Summary: Wonderful stay. We would absolutely book again in the future.
