Spend your days relaxing on the large screened in porch, complete with ceiling fan and beautiful view. Or go fishing, crabbing and swimming right off the dock in your own backyard. There is a retractable dock ladder for easy access. Kayaks and water toys are Not included. Rent or bring your own kayaks, paddle boards or other water toys to enjoy the beautiful calm harbor waters. Rinse off in the outside shower and end the day grilling local seafood or your favorite entrée on the gas grill. Then enjoy the meal from the patio with picnic table while watching the sun go down and the boats gently cruising by.
The Space:
This recently renovated 2 bedroom , 1.5 bath cottage is located on a quiet street in the gated community of Colington Harbor.
The property’s interior has a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher. There is a washer/dryer, two queen bedrooms (one with attached half bath) and queen sleep sofa in the living room. Mini split A/C units and ceiling fan in each room allows for individual comfort levels. Both bedrooms and the living room have Smart TV’s. October through mid-April cozy up in front of the gas fireplace. And of course everyone's favorite - a big screened in back porch and outside shower.
Pets: *For an additional $20 nightly fee you are welcome to bring one dog under 20lbs to share in your vacation. Please include "pet" when making your reservation. Note the yard is not fenced in. Please keep your dog on a leash when not in the home to keep your pet safe and neighbors happy. Please also clean up after your pet.
Community amenities include the beautiful sound side park with sandy beach area, playground, shaded picnic area and dog park. The community pool is not included with the rental of this property. There is also a fenced in basketball court just before you turn onto our street.
Important things to note:
Cottage Owners dock their boat on the pier lift. The owners reserve the right to access the pier for purposes of using their boat, via the adjoining property. The boat and lift are private property, Not included with the rental of the home. The rest of the beautiful dock, is for guest enjoyment and even has a slip if you would like to bring your boat. A launch pass can be purchased at the Colington Harbor Office for a fee of $10 per day or $25 for the week. The office # is (252) 441-5886, 9 -5 Monday – Friday. The launch pass can also be purchased at the gate - cash only. The boat launch is located in the lower parking area below the office building.
2 bath towels and 1wash cloth per person, bed linens, one hand towel per bathroom and kitchen linens are provided, (beach towels are Not).
Basic spices, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, coffee filters, hand soap, laundry detergent and starter package of paper towels and toilet paper are provided

Summary: The house was as described. Lovely, clean, and great neighborhood. We had a rainy two days during our stay so the screened in porch was a great bonus. We could still be outside but dry. Owner also checked on us. Nice touch! Would recommend for a family.

Summary: My friend and I wanted a quiet, relaxing retreat where we could just sit, chat, sip wine and enjoy the view. This house was perfect for us. We spent a lot of time in the backyard, sitting by the water, or on the screened porch. The area was remarkably quiet. The house is clean and well equipped. Bedrooms were comfortable. Loved the fans and individual AC units in each room! Barbara was very easy to work with. I hope to return again in the future.

Summary: Our family of six (6) really enjoyed ourselves in Colington Harbour at this lovely beach front property. It was clean & well-maintained. We were three (3) couples (brothers & their wives) that got together for the weekend for fun, fishing & driving on beach. We literally just walked out the back door to the water. Everything you wished for was within a mile or so...great restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Wright Brothers Musuem was well worth the visit & that too was about 5 miles away. The cottage has all the amenities needed (i.e., disherwasher, plates, cups, silverware, refrigerator & washer/dryer). There are two (2) nice bedrooms (one has a half-bath). There is a pullout couch, but bring a topper if you are older! We purchased food to cook on grill provided in the back one evening. There is a screened-in back porch where we spent plenty of time lounging around & tasting different spirits. Check-in was very easy. Host provided all instructions to gain access to cottage & how to get the permit for entry into the gated community well in advance of arrival. We loved our neighbor & even one long-time resident came to say hello & chatted for awhile. Such a friendly neighborhood. The Host (Ms. Barbara) was responsive when texted & checked on us to see if everything was to our liking. All-in-all, when everyone's schedules permit, we plan to return for much longer than a weekend!
