Negative: Staff was absent, hard to reach. We were told the card reader wasn't working, will be fixed on Monday, this was on Friday, we have to pay by cash. Went to get cash, then got a phone call the terminal was fixed.

Positive: The room was big and very nice. The location was also good, very close to the Zsolnay quarter and 15-20 minutes walk from the city center.

Negative: There was a cool steam shower, but most functions of the shower did not work. Only the basic shower function worked.

Positive: This hotel had a convenient location. The beds and the pillows are comfortable. There was an AC, which was much appreciated in the summer heat.

Negative: Our biggest issue was cleanliness. The toilet was dirty (as in it has not been cleaned for a while) and did not flush well. There was a pervading smell of sewage. The toilet door was dirty, the bedside tables had sticky spots, the bowls inside the cupboards were all dusty, the soap bar in the shower has been used and had hairs stuck to it. There were not enough soaps for the 3 sinks, not to mention other toiletries (like shampoo). Also, the balcony we were supposed to have was nowhere to be found. The internet was slow. There was no option for paying online in advance; our due amount paid on-site ended up being quite higher than indicated on booking.com, I was asked to pay city taxes I could not check at the moment. This could have been prevented with the online payment in advance option. The manager was difficult to get hold of. The check-in procedure was neither intuitive and user-friendly nor efficient – on the front door there was only a tel. number to call with a note in Hungarian. As a foreigner, I had trouble getting through a local mobile number and what if my phone battery was down?

Positive: Nice warm room, very comfortable bed, tea and coffee in the room, so you can have a hot beverage in the morning. There was enough space, towels and hot water in the shower.

Negative: Bed lining was worn out and not spotless, there was no information about Wi-Fi in the room, the check-in was super awkward because the front door was locked, and we had to call and ask to let us in.

Positive: It was okay and could be very nice if they gave a little effort.

Negative: There was no WiFi code in the unit, on the door, in the book, in the various emails they sent which focused only on selling spa services. They didn’t answer calls or messages on the platform or in the app about providing the code. The shower has hard water stains all over but functioned well. The towels were stiff as boards. The bathroom trash can was broken. Also all communication was only in Hungarian. It should be on both that and English.

Summary: Could’ve been much better with minimal effort.
