Positive: Resort had its own jetty which had a very good coral reef easily accessible for snorkelling. Picked up there by boats for our trips. Food got better and generally was ok. They grew some of their vegetables them selves on the site.
Negative: Resort was jaded and definitely needed renovating/updating. Switches not quite fitting sockets. Shower was designed for locals and meant I had to bend down to wash hair as no riser for the shower head. Only given 2 towels and had to hire big towel for boat trips. Sometimes staff were a bit lackadaisical but overall helpful. Mainly youngsters and there appeared to be a manager sat in the background usually on a laptop. Found out was manager because one night he put clean polo shirt on with manager stitched on to it . No effort to engage with guests. Given room 101 right by the large restaurant area. Noisy , especially when a group of slovakians decided to spend night drinking till late with very loud drunk woman constantly cackling. Plus rubbish bins next to room which added to the noise.

Positive: The staff is very friendly and hard working. And they made it very easy to sort out days trips snorkeling and diving.
Negative: I didn't realise it would be buffet food every meal. The food was good. But of course being buffet reduces choices.

Positive: Food was good. We are vegan and most meals they would provide something specifically for us, and it was always tasty. Takeaway lunches were excellent. Staff are very friendly. The property has a good jetty for diving or transfer boats. It is also a just a short drive from the main port and has a large vegetable garden which is really well kept. Staff will organise transfers and ferry ticket purchases.
Negative: The images used for reservation sales are misleading. Our room had mould/damp on the ceilings, painting severely peeling from the front and bathroom door, and large ctacks. They also only supply one towel each, no hand towel. Our toilet also seemed to have trouble draining (we hadn't put any toilet paper down it), and one of the bathroom lights didn't work. It's worth noting that there is no outdoor seating in the garden room. Despite the Booking.com description, housekeeping isn't daily. The images also show a glass enclosure on the shower, which we didn't have. Lastly, one window is frosted glass without a curtain. If your neighbour in a garden room leaves their outdoor lights on all night, you also have a brightly lit room to sleep in. This review is for a 'deluxe' garden room. We thought the overwater bungalows looked very nice. However, if you know all of these things in advance, and are coming for diving, then it isn't a bad choice if you can get a good price. Would advise an over water bungalow for the best experience.
Summary: Don't be misled by the photos, but it's fine if you're out all day diving

Positive: The rooms are large, cozy and very welcoming. The place is rather new and the owners and managers and making a lot of work to grow its opportunities - they are even making they own garden so that they can produce their own veggies. The common space is super relaxing and well designed. The food is great - a special mention to the chef. Waisai is not the best place for snorkeling but the corals at Vogelkopf are quite nice. The jetty is shaped like a fish. The best corals are inside and outside the left end of the fish, where the "tail" is.
