Summary: Beautiful and quiet environment. Really beautiful views on the mountains. Everything in the house was as described. Car is must because the house is high in mountain. Road up to house is quite narrow but easy to drive. Children did love the pool. Grazie Dario you’re very kind person!

Summary: Dario's property has everything required for a relaxing, enjoyable holiday. The location is beautiful and the property has a perfect mix of character and comfort. Being remote and away from the coast makes for a peaceful atmosphere with a comfortable climate. A 'cool' breeze in the afternoons and the thick walls of the property means that there is always a perfect temperature, despite the August Mediterranean 'heatwave'. Although it is remote, there are enjoyable walks in the area to a beautiful set of natural pools in a rushing river with waterfalls, ideal for a cooling bathe after exertion. Pigna is an architecturally stunning town as are the other small villages in the valley, particularly Dolceaqua. The coast is easily accessible by car, and the station at Vintimiglia means it is also possible to visit other Mediterranean resorts by train for days out. There are many places to eat and the location of a Lidl supermarket about 30 mins drive away makes self-catering easy, particularly combined with the use of Dario's bread making machine! This feels like quite a 'secret' area, with very few tourists- don't hesitate to book if you like this kind of holiday but don't tell too many people about it!
