The large garden surrounding the villa is an ideal place to rediscover the harmony and simplicity of the past, perhaps reading a book in one of the 'secret' corners, or even just relaxing with birds singing.
Giacomo Puccini, precisely because of the beauty of these places and for his peace, had his Villa built here (where he still lives) and where he drew inspiration for his immortal melodies ...

Casa Sotto la Torre - Villa Ricordi - is an ancient art nouveau villa of the early last century, cloaked in that mysterious and serene charm that only these houses are able to convey.
Casa Turandot, occupies the entire ground floor, and is very welcoming with its three double bedrooms, its high ceilings, the kitchen and the living room with the fireplace and direct access to the garden and to the private pergola which guarantees privacy and freedom, two bathrooms complete the house.
A Casa Butterfly, located on the entire first floor, is accessed through a suggestive external staircase. To welcome us, once you cross the threshold, a beautiful stained glass window leads us into the real house, which opens with a very bright eat-in kitchen, facing south. Two adjacent bathrooms serve 4 double bedrooms, one of which with a delightful balcony overlooking the garden and the tree-lined avenue leading to the nearby lake.
At 300 meters from the Villa, on the shores of the lake, there is the villa-museum of Giacomo Puccini, and near the Gran Teatro where every year, in the summer, the master's works are represented: among his most famous harmonies we remember Madama Butterfly, La Turandot, Tosca .... which attract thousands of fans and not about this magnificent theater on the shores of the lake.

Summary: The only issue was operating the clothes washing machine - it is either Italian, or temperamental, or actually in need of repair? It may be helpful to have instructions for use in languages other than Italian. Please note this is meant as a constructive suggestion. The property, the location, and the gracious assistance of the host were all remarkable and we give it ten from ten. We aim to return and will highly recommend the villa to friends

Summary: My wife and I rented the ground floor apartment for 3 weeks in June 2018 and had friends visit us on two occasions during our stay. The initial impression was that the villa/apartment was slightly old fashioned but this was charming as the villa dated from the 1890's and most of the interior decor from the 1930's. It was really comfortable with everything we needed, in a quiet location close to the lake. The garden was full of flowering plants such as jasmine - really great. We can only recommend the property 100% - Luca and Lisa the hosts were very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of tips and hints on things to do and places to visit locally. We are seriously considering a return trip next year ! Thank you Luca and Lisa - ciao !

Summary: Luca, the host, goes above and beyond in ensuring that your every needs are met. He is a host who immediately becomes a friend. The home is truly authentic and offers a sense of tranquility and peace. Only a mile from the train and the bus stop is quite close. Short walk to Puccini's home and lake. A perfect place to call home base while taking day trips by train throughout the Tuscany region. I highly recommend.

Summary: Five friends came together to celebrate a special birthday including going to the Puccini Festival. Staying at Casa Turandot made it perfect. Five minutes walk to the Lake and ten minutes to the town. Our host Luca was charming and very helpful. A beautiful place. Tranquil. Places to sit in the shade and in the sun

Summary: What an amazing three weeks in Italy! The Villa Turandot was absolutely amazing and Luca and Lisa were wonderful hosts. The villa was spacious, had a full kitchen, and a lovely backdoor sitting area to drink wine and watch the sunset. We can't wait to return and spend more time at this beautiful place.

Summary: I was staying in this Villa with large group of friends with children. The villa is very spacious and easily accommodated all of us. We really liked large garden and our children enjoyed large swimming pool. Outside in the garden is a large table, which we used every evening for long dinners and drinks. All the pictures of he Villa are very realistic. Our hosts, Luca and Lisa are very helpful and friendly. We had a very great time living there and we hope we will go back for nest holiday there. Summary: Luca is an amazing man. Very helpful. Every time we had a problem, he went to fix it. What you see on the picture is what you see in real. Except the mosquitos. Bring your spray. The house is beautiful, well equipped. There is a lot of things to do around. Pisa, Firenze, the sea and the Lac. You'll like this place.

Summary: For us it was a perfect experience. Nice villa, beautiful garden, and swimming pool. Good location with bus stop just on the front. If you add available bikes you can leave a car behind. Pisa, Florence, Lucca, and other attraction are in day trip reach. Puccinin's villa and lake are just 5min walk. Owner is very nice and helpful, you can easily reach him over the phone or email(via HomeAway app).He will give you some tips on places to visit or restaurants to go. Villa is furnitured in 1930's style, but we love it. It's clean and nicely maintained. You can have all your meals in the garden surrounded by copies of famous Italian sculptress and chill out in the pool after busy day till dawn. The only think is , the old chairs laing around in the garden. I suppose they have been intended to add an last century feeling , but they are rusty and looks like belong to scrapyard. Shops and restaurants are in walking distance. You can reach beach by bike ( as we did) or presume by bus. Overall highly recommended .

Summary: perfectly located for amazing day trips just a stones throw away from the beaches, beautiful coastline and wonderful outdoor eateries. Our day trips included Cinque Terre, Montecarlo, and Carmignano. All within an hours drive. We enjoyed cooking in the charming farm kitchen and riding bikes to the beach! Luca and Lisa were always in contact to give us suggestions on restaurants, ice cream and day trips!! They were wonderful hosts! We would love to return to this special villa. Jeanne and Michael

Summary: Luca and Lisa, the owners of Casa Turandot (Villa Ricordi), were keenly interested in our comfort and our Italian experience. Their rental home in Torre del Lago was perfect for our vacation plans. The house is clean comfortable and authentic. The backyard allowed us to soak up the Tuscan sun. The kitchen is well equipped for making delicious breakfast and dinner meals with fresh ingredients purchased in town. The bicycles provided are great for local exploration and trips to the sea. Casa Turandot is well situated for daily excursions to the beautiful sites of Tuscany as we visited Lucca, Cingue Terre, Montecarlo, Pisa and San Gimignano. We highly recommend Casa Turandot for your Italy vacation.
