Positive: Breakfast The breakfast was extraordinary. The team asked what local fruits we enjoyed and sourced exactly what we requested from the market. We had beautiful seasonal fruits like rambutan, mangosteen, papaya, pineapple, and other incredible local produce. Everything was fresh and organic from the local market. A private chef prepared breakfast each morning, including eggs cooked exactly to order, and we could adjust the menu daily depending on what we felt like. It was consistently delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Location The location is exceptional. The villa overlooks stunning rice paddies surrounded by jungle and forest, creating a peaceful and beautiful setting. The sunrise and sunset views from the property are unforgettable. The villa itself is lovely, with very spacious rooms and plenty of room to relax. There are two separate villa buildings, which is great because you can rent just one side of the property (which we did) and still have your own private pool. If you rent the entire property, there are two private pools. The pools are large and inviting, and there’s also a beautiful grass area for relaxing. The grounds are incredibly well maintained and the entire property feels like a sanctuary. It’s located in Kelusa Village, about 25 minutes from Ubud, which makes it easy to visit without dealing with the busyness of Ubud itself. Kelusa is extraordinary in how clean, peaceful, and well maintained it is. The local community clearly takes great pride in caring for their village, and it adds to the special feeling of staying here. The villa also provides a private car and driver, which makes it very easy to go into town, visit temples, or explore the area whenever you like. Staff The staff are exceptional. YM, the facility manager, has been there for many years and I’ve known him for over a decade. He is incredibly committed to making sure your stay is perfect. He checks in regularly and is always available via WhatsApp for anything you might need. O

Positive: Villa Kelusa is located in the most breathtaking setting, surrounded by nature and rice fields. We were lucky to visit during the rice harvest, which made the experience even more special. The staff were truly amazing, they took us on a guided hike, explained the harvesting process, and shared stories about the local village. You can enjoy both lunch and dinner at the villa, and the food was exceptional in both quality and presentation. The service was equally outstanding. The villa itself is unique, serene, and unforgettable! Every detail feels special. We loved everything about our stay and cannot recommend Villa Kelusa enough. A truly spectacular experience!

Positive: Right from the get go, the property took our breath away. We were greeted by smiling and welcoming staff with a delicious welcome drink and snacks. There are 2 villas on the property and its smack dab in the middle of the paddy fields. Our villa was exceptionally decorated with beautiful artwork that the owner has collected over the years. The staff took care of every need that we had, be it food, taxi or spa. Everyone that we interacted with during our stay was so nice, friendly and warm. Food : Elo, our cook made delicious food for us. We asked her to make some traditional dishes that weren’t on the menu but she still obliged. They also did floating breakfast one day just to give us the experience. It’s a big property, very serene, clean and quirt and needs staff to maintain it. They were quiet and inconspicuous as much as they could. We never felt that they were invading our privacy. Wayan the manager : went above and beyond in booking our excursions, helping with food choices, sharing tips on where to buy local stuff all with a smile. He also took us on a tour of the paddy fields and shared local stories. Everything about this villa was gorgeous and it was the perfect size for our family of four. The beautiful long infinity pool gave us the perfect view and vibe. The massage was absolutely amazing and so relaxing. They have their own massage tables and can set it up for the masseuse that they call from outside. The staff let us explore and hang out in the backyard of the other villa, including using its pool. There was a pond with fish, and the staff even gave us fish food to feed them, which my son enjoyed. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and relaxing. Overall, this was one of our favorite stays in Bali, and a definite five star experience. We are on another island now but still miss Villa Kelusa and its people.

Negative: The stairs to the upstairs room may be a bit steep for people with bad knees. Just a heads up.
