Villa 'Gardens Brucoli' is situated on the east coast of Sicily, just 20 minutes from the airport of Catania, near the ancient city of Baroque Siracusa, Noto, Marzamemi. There are approximately 500 meters passable on foot or by car to the sea of Brucoli which offers a sandy beach reserved for residents and here you will also find the famous 'balata' - a wonderful natural rock plateau white Syracuse. The villa has a single floor of 107 meters of natural freshness and surrounded by a beautiful garden of 1200 m². Internally comprises: large kitchen-living room with all modern Equipment, 2 bedrooms with a king-size bed, a bunk bed, a cot for the little ones and 2 sofa beds. For a total of 8 beds. The territory offers 2 lighted outdoor terraces with views of Mount Etna and the wonderful double Brucoli bay, a green lawn where children can play safely with games (slides, houses), parking for 3 cars or boat and outdoor shower. The center of Brucoli is 2 km far from the house, and offers all the amenities: restaurants and pizzerias with typical local dishes such as pasta with sea urchins. Here you can rent a boat in the famous yacht Jonio Yachting club to enjoy the scenery or do some dive directly into the transparent blue of this beautiful sea. On request we organize fishing tuna.
The story of Brucoli: It is a fishing village in the province of Syracuse. The village of Brucoli is situated about 5 km from Augusta with a channel That complements for much of the ITS length and is born as a fishing village. On the walls, along the Channel, there are Numerous caves, typical dwellings of the Neolithic age. West of the Channal opens a vast area, the '' Gisira '' WHERE IS OUR VILLA SITUATED, a large Gisira calcareous tableland slopes down towards the sea, where the extreme north lie the remains of a Neolithic village. In the midst of this landscape is the village with the glistening sea, the sky cobalt, the port-channel and drowed by age castle That the Sun of summer noon, with prodigious Alchemist's magic, Becomes a fantastic ancient Golden Manor. According to Thucydides recounts in His Peloponnesian War (VI .4), here came the first Greeks from Megara, led by the oikistes Lamis, who on the banks of the river Pantakyas founded a village, to Which he Gave the name of Tròtylon. From this first landing, and from there headed to Lentini expelled from Chalcis founded before Thapsos and Megara Hyblaea. On the plateau of Gisira there is an oasis of greenery, stands the sanctuary of the Madonna of Adonai, with the adjoining monastery, built on a natural Grotto, Already use Greek, on Whose back wall you can see a figure of the Madonna with child Which Jesus, according to Functional tradition, was painted in the 4th century by the Bishop of Lipari Agathon, Took refuge here to escape persecution. The river Porcaria, the ancient Pantakyas, before reaching the contrada 'Bay', Asilah, Arcila in a loop from the walls of the cavity presents high bronze age graves, all along the Ridge called Maccaudo Valley. In past centuries it Seems That the River was navigable for a long is inland, and was used for the transport of goods from the coast inland. Brucoli With Its port-channel was annexed in the fifteenth century into the House of Queens Aragoneses. The Governor John Cabastida, by order of Queen Giovanna, in 1467, he built the Castle guarding the warehouse and Emporium where she loaded cargo. Brucoli loader (I know they were called the ports from Which it departed and arrived goods) in Aragoneses age was very important for His work and was merged at the royal property. In a wing of the castle was used as a small church, the first in the country, and on the South-western tower were built two pillars like a bell. Always inside the castle there was a room used as a burial place. The 19th-century parish church with the ship, built on several occasions, is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, patron saint of mariners and patron of the country. According to a local tradition, sailors of a ship called in the middle of the storm and found refuge in Brucoli. As a sign of gratitude brought` the Church under construction the painting depicting St. Nicholas enthroned, today Became the altarpiece of the high altar. The Church Suffered severe damage as a result of the earthquake of December 13, 1990 Secured and re-opened on May 25, 1997 was restored and reopened for worship on December 18, 2005 Of great value is the 19th-century wooden statue of St. Nicholas, Which is preserved at the high altar, behind the picture depicting the Saint. For quantity of goods exported, Brucoli Often exceeded the port of Augusta. Today the port-channel, Porcaria, mouth is navigable for about one hundred meters from the mouth by small tonnage vessels since the bottom, over the years, Has Gone increasingly rising. With appropriate interventions could be cleared and dredged to make it cutting easier to pleasure boats or fishing. Deeper than a few dozen yards inside the channel, you can still see the bridge on the River, used by the old women of the town as a washtub. On the last Sunday of July there is the feast of the patron St. Nicholas. Every second year we celebrated with a long procession of boats on the sea. Offshore, the boat carrying the statue of the Patron Saint is thrown overboard a laurel wreath in memory of the fallen of the sea. On December 6, the day of the liturgical feast of Saint Nicholas, the Patron Saint is remembered with a solemn celebration. Every August 5, by several centuries, from the parish church Began to pilgrimage, crossing the river and follow the ancient road leading to the district Gisira, Reaches the sanctuary of the Madonna of Adonai, in Which mass is Celebrated. The Sunday That follows the March 19, in Piazza San Nicola is the characteristic 'Auction of Saint Joseph', in Which they sell the gifts That bring families to the patron saint of Providence, including a local pizza feature called 'Cudduruni'.

Summary: The owner Salvo was a lovely host who went out of his way to show us around and keep things running smoothly. He also offers a great guided tour of Etna, at rates lower than the tourist guides and is personalised to suit your requirements. The villa is lovely, reasonably well furnished with a pool and views across to Etna and the sea. It is located in a quiet private and gated housing estate, but a good 45 min walk to Brucoli. A car is essential to fully enjoy the area, as Brucoli is quite remote with a few cafe and restaurants, but not a tourist hot spot.

Summary: The accommodation is as described, with an amazing pool and large outside seating area. Salvo was always available for any guidance (local restaurants, places to visit) and support (transfer from/to airport and transport for visiting attractions). We all (4 adults) enjoyed the villa and the opportunity to use it as a base to visit Brucoli, Etna, Syracuse, Noto and Taormina. We benefitted from a hire car for the two weeks, which enabled trips to the Supermarkets, beaches and days out. We largely self-catered, with everything available in the kitchen to make this possible. Due to the warmer than usual temperature, we also made good use of the air conditioning in the bedrooms. The villa and it's owner made our holiday the relaxing and enjoyable break we all needed.

Summary: What a lovely time we had! The villa was beautiful, well presented in well kept gardens. We travelled in October and the weather was amazing, the price for the property was such good value. The pool was so inviting, especially for a morning swim, when the sun was rising. The hosts were wonderful, they communicated with us, almost immediately with any requests. The village of Brucoli is very cute, we didn’t have a car, and enjoyed walking into town, and ate at a excellent fish restaurant by the sea. We also tried the pizzeria, which was value for money. The local butchers and fish markets, were selling local produce. What a fantastic experience of Sicily - Thank you

Summary: The villa is absolutely amazing! It is really spacious, it has great kitchen fitted with everything you may need. The outdoor seating area is just beautiful, garden & pool were absolutely stunning too! Salvo was really great in communicating with us prior our arrival and during our stay. He was kind enough to provide a cot bed and a high chair for our little boy. I highly recommend the villa, it is perfect for a relaxing and peaceful holiday!

Summary: Enjoyable stay. Mind that occasionally the neighbors might throw a party but impact was minimal during our stay

Summary: We went to Brucoli in September, mostly to visit Sicilia's wonders in different cities but also to use some sun and sea. Although it was 29℃ every day, the public swimming pool nearby (Cafe Grecale) and most of beach services were closed outside of the season. The house in Brucoli was perfect - spacious, nicely equipped, with large and well maintained garden. Only to live there you need to have a car as area is very wild (you could see stray dogs) and mountainous, and the nearest shop (market) is 16 km further. Overall this place is perfect place to stay if you're planning to do sightseeing, but for relax you'd need to go there in July or August.

Summary: We were two couples and two babies of 7 and 8 months staying here. Marina and Salvo are very nice, helpful and communicative hosts. Salvo showed us around Brucoli upon arrival and later they also answered any questions we had. They left us with some basic things and a bottle of nice wine and water. Very welcoming. The house was comfortable and spacious enough for us all with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the morning we made coffee and had breakfast, with bread from the local bakery close by, in the well equipped open kitchen. From there we had a view on palm trees, exotic plants and flowers and in the background the sea and volcano. The garden has a fence around and is very green and well kept, wich makes it perfect for kids to play and adults to use the outside kitchen and terrace. Therefor it should be a little warmer then the temperatures we had. The property is located in a big park with many holiday/weekend homes. It was very very quiet when we were there, which was nice for us. Of course the park's restaurant and swimming pool were closed, but that didn't bother us. The weather was very good for long walks on driving distance (our car was parked on the property) and there a beautiful walks to be made right around the corner. We personally misjudged the fact that we were house-bound as soon the kids were in bed and it was too cold to sit outside. There is 1GB internet that you log-in for every time wich was enough for checking little things, but not very much for 4 adults being inside every night. For electricity we payed €50, it's separately billed, which was fine considering we had to heat when we were at home for the babies and there wasn't much sun to take energy from. All in all I would consider the property of Marine and Salvo again when visiting this area, but in a warmer time of year so we can open the windows and let fresh air in and enjoy the garden also in the nighttime. Thank you both!

Summary: It was an incredible stay, our children has fully enjoyed this big house with its green and terraces with amazing sea and volcano view. The villa has everything you only need, its new and completely equipped. The pizzeria and professional swimming pool are just next door to the house, they were very high quality. It is very important that the beaches are all free, and we didn't pay a euro to enjoy the crystalline sea of Sicily. Brucoli itself is a very panoramic and characteristic place, there are many good restaurants, excursions shops and even en boat rental club. Very good point to visit Syracuse, Marzamemi Noto and many another places. Thank you indeed to the owners for being very helpful and friendly with us !

Summary: The House is very nice, well located between Catania and Syracusa. From there you can visit many beautiful places such as Noto, Ragusa, Taormina... It is well furnished and clean. Salvo is very nice. He has welcome us and took time to explain us where to shop in brucoli for food, rental boats... The wifi has to be improved and it would be a good point to mention that you have to pay an extra to have an access to the shared swimming pool. I definitely recommend this house and already miss my breakfast on the terrace with it's amazing view on Etna and the see. We tried the pizzas from Original Forno: soooo good! Thank you to Marina and Salvo :)
