Summary: We enjoyed an amazing holiday at Villa Green Diamond. The property is exactly as it looks, modern, high quality and with amazing facilities. Located well away from any other properties it’s a real oasis and only 5 minutes walk from the beach which meant we spent time between the beautiful pool and later in the day the beach (with water sports, and beach bar/taveras). There are plenty of taverna options near the villa too, walking distance plus food delivery options which meant we avoided cooking most days (a real holiday)! We also went to some amazing restaurants in the main town, 10 minutes by cab (Alana and Prima Plora the highlights). Maria was absolutely amazing, very responsive before we arrived offering advice on car hire, airport transfers etc, as well as being fully available to assist when we were at the villa. Our check in was late (10.30 pm) and without us asking she had organised pizza for when we arrived at the villa, with 4 hungry kids this was fabulous and summed up her attention to making sure our holiday was amazing throughout the two weeks. The reception by Maria was also very warm. The refrigerator was also filled with an initial item and everything was very pleasant and clean. Communication with Maria during our stay was always very quick and the overall service was great. We can recommend Villa Green Diamond with full conviction. It was a great vacation. Summary: Beautiful villa that had absolutely everything you could ever want or need for a luxurious holiday...first class facilities..TV’s in every bedroom, gym, games room, heavenly beds and choice of pillows, aircon, bikes, coffee machine, bath robes and slippers, hairdryer in every room...the list goes on. All kept spotlessly clean with x2 changes and cleaning while we stayed. Much more than other villas we have previously stayed in. The outdoor area is huge and the pool just perfect, keeping us all (family of 5) amused for our 11 days here...comfy sunloungers and outdoor bed meant we didn’t really need to leave the villa during the day. Outside bar and kitchen / BBQ and pizza oven is a real bonus with plenty of cool and shaded areas to enjoy lunch or dinner outside. Maria the owner was also first class..from the moment she came to guide us in when we arrived, to the delicious homemade Moussaka and desserts she delivered to us, she made us feel very at home and nothing was too much trouble. Villa is in a great location...5 min drive from Rethymnon port and old town and 2 mins from Platanias the other direction. Very near supermarkets, great tavernas and beach bars. You probably need a car, but could easily manage with getting taxis as is so close to everything and there were lots around so can’t imagine it would be very expensive. There are also bikes at the villa so you could use those if feeling energetic !! . Roulis Beach bar in Platanias at sunset and for dinner is a real must, as is the Old Town, where we spent most of our time. Great laid back atmosphere, pretty cobbled lanes and streets, great shops, lovely places to eat and all the people we met were welcoming and friendly, especially with the kids. We had a blissful 11 days here, just perfect and would not hesitate to recommend both the villa and the area and Crete. We are already planning our next trip to stay here. Summary: We had a marvellous stay in this gorgeous villa. Maria who owns the Villa was so welcoming and kind. We arrived late so she had stocked the fridge with food and drinks and even made us a meal during the week. The house was very comfortable and made even more enjoyable by all the outside activities that we enjoyed during the evenings. We had great fun playing golf after dinner in the evenings . The outdoor area has been very well thought out with lots of places to relax . The outdoor fridge was a real bonus not having to go inside for drinks when wet from the pool. We would definitely stay here again . Thank you Maria.
