7 Bedroom Villa in Rancho Domingo, Benalmádena

Fabulous family villa (designed by the American architect, Frank Lloyd- Wright) and guesthouse in large, private gardens with many tropical plants, roses and citrus fruits. The urbanisation is one of the oldest on the Costa del Sol and has patrolling security at night. Most of the people who live here are permanent residents, giving the area a feeling of calm and stability- no night clubs in the neighbourhood, although you will find them a 15 minute car drive away.
The house has been our family home for over 30 years which means it doesn't have the typical "rental property feel". There are games and books, sewing stuff, toys, videos, dvd´s, a fully equipped kitchen, my cooking books, spices and baking stuffs. Please use it! There are two fridge freezers, washing machine/drier (although I never use it, preferring to dry the clothes naturally) a large Weber bbq, wifi, satellite tv, play house, basketball hoop, football goal, table tennis, beach bags & toys etc.
You are more than welcome to pick lemons for your evening drinks. There are several tropical and semi-tropical plants and fruits as well as roses and lilies, depending on the time of year. The pool is very large for a private villa and has a fence with 2 lockable gates. There is a slide (removable) and a diving board.
The property is ideal for families of three generations for example, and big enough so that you can all enjoy your own space or come together by the pool or dining table or one of the seating areas.
We supply all linen and towels as well as beach chairs, beach toys and cool bags- the house is and has been, our home for over 30 years so is fully equipped for families.
The villa has French doors in all rooms facing the expansive, flat lawns, making this a very easy and comfortable way to live for all ages. There are several seating areas, both in shade and sun, and we have four shaded areas for dining, drinks or relaxing, One outside the dining room, one by the pool, one behind the house and the other overlooking the sea.
There are several Championship golf courses nearby and a driving range within 0.5km. Gym, tennis and padel close-by. Beaches, many of them with Blue Flags, are within a 10 minute drive as is Aqua Park, Selwo Marina, Fuengirola Zoo and Benalmadena Marina. For anyone wanting to travel further, there are excellent train connections to Malaga, Cordoba, Sevilla and Madrid. This is a quiet area without bars and restaurants within the urbanisation but the village of Benalmadena Pueblo has a surprisingly large selection of really good restaurants!
Our 1 dog (Rango) may be on the property but not anywhere in your areas- he is looked after by the gardener and although very friendly, we ask that you don´t let him out (you are likely to lose your bbq chicken...or get his company in the pool). Please do not feed him.

Summary: This is a beautiful home with large gracious rooms. Plenty of room for all ages. Great kitchen with all the gadgets and mod-cons. The pool is full sized and very secure with the iron fencing.It is much easier to use a taxi, Uber or the train to visit the surrounding areas as parking in the smaller towns and Malaga is impossible.My one negative comment is that the lock on the outside gate is old and the tumblers are worn thus it is very finicky and we were never sure that it was going to open.

Summary: What an amazing place to stay! Perfect for all ages. Plenty of space inside and out for anyone to get quiet time if needed. Kids absolutely loved having the playhouse to play in when needing time out the sun. Communication with Jenny was fantastic. Always on hand to answer any questions and nothing was too much trouble. The house is so well equipped, has everything you need. This really was a brilliant find and definitely will be returning. We loved that the pool was gated all the way around, helped with the children. We can't thank Jenny enough for letting us stay in her beautiful family home. It was lovely to feel so welcome and relaxed

Summary: Villa Acuario is the perfect holiday house. An oasis of tranquility and convenient to all the vibrant cultural site, sporting activities, shopping, and great restaurants in the Malaga area. The pergola is heaven—gorgeous views of the sea with soft breezes and comfy sofas. The garden is lovely and fragrant. The pool is large and central to the house and guest house. We had an awesome family reunion of 11 people of all ages from ages 1 to 70 years old. Everyone said it was the best holiday ever!! The main house is an ideal balance of a comfortable family home and elegance. The bedrooms (ensuite) are split on either side of the living, dining, and kitchen areas allowing for privacy for all the guests. The kitchen is a “cook’s kitchen”. There are 4 dining table options—next to the kitchen, formal dining table with a view of the garden and 2 large outdoor tables. The guest house allows for additional privacy and areas for people (for example older children) to gather together. The whole property feels like you are staying in your own private luxury resort. We spent half a day touring each in Malaga and Marbella, boating, hiking, and swimming on beaches and then went “home” to relax, talk, enjoy each other’s company and the beauty of the sea, house, and gardens. Jenny is a most welcoming and helpful host. She is available to answer any question, make recommendations (she recommended a fabulous chef to cook for us) and give local advice on where to hike or find necessities.

Summary: We have recently returned from a 10 day holiday at this amazing property. The main house, summer house and pool (basically everything) could not have been more perfect for our large family group of 12. We immediately felt at home and at ease. As mentioned in other reviews, Jenny, the owner, was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. I have booked a number of villas previously and this was definitely the easiest and best interaction and villa I have had. We really didn't want to leave,!

Summary: We had a wonderful week with extended family in Jenny's house. Fitted 4 different families with different aged kids all of whom had a blast. Really well appointed kitchen with loads of equipment plus herbs, oils etc which was great. Loads of stuff to keep everyone busy......pool toys, pingpong table, basketball hoop. Also a piano which thrilled one of the guests! Location was great. Steep but very possible walk into beautiful Benalmedena Pueblo, also lots of convenient supermarkets nearby. Garden was beautiful and had loads of secret spaces for hiding out with a book. Only small criticism would be for such a large house parking is very limited. All in all a wonderful house, great holiday and a very approachable and helpful team!

Summary: We have had a brilliant week at villa Acuario. Jenny was very helpful before we arrived and during our stay answering any questions we had and offering advice about the area etc. The house it self was perfect for a larger group with children. Lots of exploring for the children to do in the gardens and the little play house was great! Filled with toys too. The pool was gated which made it nice and safe for the little ones. Very accommodating for babies. There was two travel cots available and high chairs so it really was perfect - we had six children under the age of 5! We had everything we needed. We spent our days around the pool using the bbq for lunches and had our evening meals out at some lovely restaurants. The pueblo would be walkable for adults but as we had so many young children we chose to get taxi’s. They arrived within 5 minutes and only cost 8 Euros to the pueblo (old town) and 13 to the beach / marina. Overall we had a fantastic week and if we were so exhausted from running round after small people all week we’d be booking again!

Summary: The best vacation thanks to the amazing house, beautiful garden and super pool. Jenny the host was so nice, informative and welcoming. The house is designed with a lot of love and care and so was the garden. We were 2 families and we spent 3 weeks with small kids and grownups and it was perfect. The pool has a fence so it was very safe for the small kids. It was August but there was cool air especially in the lovely pagoda, the view was amazing. Jenny the host was so nice and helped us in any question or request we had. The place looks even better then the pictures. Even the cleaner was super nice and we asked her to come every day to cook breakfast ( additional of course) and we totally fell in love with her. The house (including the guest house), pool and garden is highly maintained. The old town next to the house is very nice and has good restaurants. Thanks to all of this we had the perfect vacation and we definitely plan to go back.
