Positive: The villa had lots of space with a very large kitchen/diner and lounge. The bedrooms were all a good size. The views over the hills to the sea were lovely. The villa was very well equipped and the hosts were excellent answering any queries we had immediately via WhatsApp and providing good recommendations for restaurants and supermarkets.

Negative: It was all very good

Positive: Clean, everyone managing the property were incredible, they took care of us all throughout our stay and gave us many amazing recommendations! We always got quick responses. The house was perfect for our group and had everything we needed.

Negative: Not a fault of the property, but taxi and delivery drivers for some reason have a hard time finding it via the street address. We were always very easily able to work something out though, and the address points to the right property on google maps so not sure why!

Summary: An incredible time with a group of friends, lovely house with a great view!

Positive: Fantastic house and balcony and terrace. Very helpful owners and easy check in. Few good local restaurants and shop. The island generally was lovely and great hiking.

Negative: The town felt very run down and quite unsafe especially walking back in the evening. Dog in nearby house barked very often.

Summary: Overall lovely stay and great base to explore the other parts of the island

Positive: Super friendly and super helpful hosts! The house was top notch; clean, large, quiet neighbourhood, parking included... There was a super market just a 50 meters walk further. The location of the house is in the middle of the isle and thus perfect for discovering São Miguel by car. There's a surveilled beach in less than 5 minutes driving. Absolutely no negative remarks at all.

Negative: Nothing. All was perfect for us. However, situated very close to the harbour, we can imagine the neighbourhood could give you an uneasy feeling when walking the streets, as there are always (and only) men hanging outside every moment of the day. Yet we felt safe for sure and it didn't bother us. But don't let this hold you down!

Positive: The stay at Vila da Pesca House was perfect. The house is incredible, clean and modern, exactly like in the pictures. There is a lot of natural light and the views of the house are absolutely amazing. The house has everything you need: all kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, trash bags, washing machine, dishwasher, towels, first-aid kit, board games... The Wi-Fi and TV work perfectly (there's some international channels and you can also add Netflix and other streaming services). They even gave us some traditional food from the island on the first day (wine, milk, cheese, coffee...) and some souveniers, sweet jams and bolos lêvedos on the day before we left. The owners and daughters were always there to help and readily available in case anything came up. They also gave us a lot of recommendations of both tourist and local spots (nature, thermal baths, restaurants...). Communication was very good throughout our stay thanks to a groupchat they created and they offered their support and help after one of our family members had an accident while hiking. The whole check-in and check-out process was easy and quick too. The city the house is in is not touristy at all, but despite whatever your first impression might be, it is completely safe and everyone minds their own business. Once you close the door, you can barely hear any outisde noise other than the wind. It is perfectly located, in the middle of the island, 20 minutes by car to the airport and 50 minutes of driving maximum to get to any point in the whole island. There are restaurants, grocery stores, bars, cafés, etc. nearby.
