Positive: Staff in restaurants and bars were fantastic. Especially the girls at breakfast and the lads at Chill Bar. Breakfast was fantastic

Negative: Upon arrival at the hotel reception was disaapointing. Check in took 45 miniutes ( this was at 11.30pm after 16 hours of flight time). The delay caused by the fact the resort thought there was three of us and they had to adjust the "welcome bill" Surely a resort like this would present the bills at check out and get guests to their rooms as a priority. To us it felt like welcome here is a bill for US$ 500...... Meals in restaurants/room service were variable in quality and quantity.

Positive: The staff here are super chill and friendly The service was top‑notch from start to finish. They surprised us with private room upgrade - total bonus, Even after we checked out, they went above and beyond—found one of my missing AirPods I’d been hunting for, which was amazing. Free ice cream? Yaaaaaaes And breakfast? Soooo yummy One night, I spotted a little lizard and called for help, and the team showed up lightning fast. Honestly, 10/10 experience. Big love to the crew for making our stay awesome I had the most amazing massage by Kintsho—she’s seriously talented. I went for the sleep & relax massage, and wow… I slept like a baby. Huge shout‑out to Kintsho for her magic hands 🙏 The activities team was also super friendly and really knew how to make everyone have a great time

Negative: I just wish they had a little store with authentic local goodies and souvenirs, plus a few bicycles to ride around That would’ve made the experience even more perfect!”

Positive: Beautiful beaches with superb blue and clean water. Very nice water villa, new, beautiful and comfortable. Good beds. Tasty food from the main restaurant, good breakfast and great dinner. Very friendly staffs from the main restaurant and house keeping. Thank you! Free ice-cream every afternoon. Not too far away from the international airport, easy to reach by speedboat. Good price.

Negative: Very bad check-in experience, we arrived early and had to wait many hours until we finally get into our water villa at 2.30pm while the resort manager promised us at 1.30pm . It was very exhausted and disappointed!

Positive: Very clean and relaxing. Recommend swimming in their pool.

Negative: It was too windy and the waves were too strong to swim in the ocean. Also it collected ocean trash on the shore. Food was alright but i would call it under whelming.

Positive: We had an amazing time at Velassaru! The hotel is absolutely beautiful — everything from the beaches to the landscape is perfectly maintained. What really stood out to us was the staff: everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Our bungalow was incredible, we stayed in an overwater bungalow with a private pool, and it was just perfect. The view was amazing, especially at sunset, and we loved being able to jump straight into the sea or relax in the pool in total privacy. The coral reef just in front was a great spot for snorkeling! The food was great, and we especially loved the fact that they serve cava at breakfast — such a nice touch!

Negative: Only a downside is that drinks aren’t included, so just something to be aware of. If you go snorkeling, watch out for the titan triggerfish — it’s a cool experience but definitely not a fish you want to mess with! And the prices of water activities, tours and spa are a bit high.

Summary: Overall, we had the best holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Velassaru to anyone. We’re already dreaming of going
