Positive: The location was super peaceful, surrounded by nature. No other houses in sight, only birds singing and insects buzzing. Everything was top notch. The house was spotless, bed extra comfortable, it had everything we needed from kitchen equipments to linen, towels, outdoor seatings,… The many windows offered a beautiful view of the valley and we felt very lucky to spend Christmas there. We will definitely be back!

Negative: The mattress on the bed. We both woke up with sore backs but that's all.

Positive: This is a cottage loaded with character in an unbeatable location - private, secure, quiet and most importantly, clean. The garden is beautiful and the views magnetic. Access to Nightcap national park is perfect for hikers. Supplies are high quality and the kitchen is well stocked. The comfortable bed and spa are icing on the cake. Also great to see an owner that understands even though it's couples only, two couches gives you both space to lounge separately. I'd love to return one day.

Positive: Supplies left were adequate for one a one night stay, a little more for a two night stay would have been appreciated with the nearest shop a small distance away. Maybe a small fruit tray and a small arrangement of flowers. My wife loved the fact that there was no other cottages in the same driveway as did I.

Negative: Dishwashing liquid could have been a better choice. Also a little more firewood would have helped. Maybe a few mats as the floor when the fire died down was painful on the feet even with socks on

Positive: Valleydale cottage has beautiful serene views and its authentic architecture impressed us from the first moment. The wood stove was great and added exta cosyness to our stay. The bed was super comfy. We liked the outdoor jakuzi. Sourdough organic bread was delicious. Good selection of board games kept our daughter entertained.

Negative: There was a strong smell in the living area and bathroom. The sour smell in the living area gradually decreased by usage of the wood stove but did not stop. The toilet seat had a strong urine smell, which was quite disturbing. I cleaned it, which slightly improved the situation, but the smell didn’t go away completely. It might be coming from the old wood finish on the toilet seat and/or the vanity. There was no shampoo provided. "Breakfast included" was not a fair statement for this stay because we had only bread and jam left for the second day. The number of eggs and tomatoes were not sufficient for 2 adults and 1 child. No cheese was provided.

Positive: Breakfast hamper was awesome, the bed was comfortable, the setting was magical. The kitchen was well equipped and the wifi helped so much. The outdoor spa was exceptional.

Negative: Maybe a fly screen here and there, so as to be able to open up doors and windows to the country setting.

Summary: We go away 2-3 times a year, and have done for 8 years - this is by far the best place we have been
