Summary: Pros: It was a privilege to be able to stay in this gorgeous, spacious house with traditional Canarian architecture and a large, quiet garden looking out onto the historical capital of Fuerteventura. Rustic charms aside, the property still offers all sorts of modern conveniences (including a washing machine); everything is well-designed and well-thought out for the guests’ comfort. Above all else, it is the warmth, kindness, and generosity of the host family that stands out. Communications was perfect throughout; I loved the personal reception during check-in (unlike most other places that use sms and a code for the key box), and Alvaro even proactively checked in on me during the middle of my stay, showing the level of care for his guests. Cons: It was difficult that Betancuria is so small and remote, without any grocery stores and frequent bus connections to other towns, but the Armas family jumped to the rescue without hesitation whenever they knew I encountered difficulties, and I cannot thank them enough!
