Positive: Very, very convenient to explore Hadrian's Wall Country using public transportation (the bus stop is virtually on your doorstep) and very nicely renovated, fortunately without losing the charm of the original house Very clean. Comfortable beds. The bathroom combines a spacious tub/shower with the smallest sink we have ever seen, which nonetheless does its job perfectly! Two supermarkets close by, a few places to dine out in and around the main square

Negative: Not surprisingly there are stairs inside, so maybe not ideal for people with mobility issues... or huge, heavy suitcases to be taken upstairs

Positive: Nice cottage good location, comfortable bed and nice shower.

Negative: We arrived at 15.00 check in time , cottage hadn't been cleaned,dirty towels in bathroom and bed sheets left scrumpled on bed and rooms uncleaned ,messaged and rang owners who said they'd messaged me earlier to say cleaners were running late and that their car had broken down ,was driving at the time so didn't see message until we arrived,offered us a free lunch from the shop for the inconvenience which I told them was an insult as our weekend had already been ruined ,then offered me full refund of cleaning fees which I'm still waiting for ,address is advertised as 1 castle hill terrace but is in fact 1 castle hill ,also advertised as free parking but we were told by a resident there was no parking there and that they had been told of this .

Positive: Our stay was good but to find the property was very misleading it is not mellow house that is a private residence and the owner had been trying to contact someone to take the name off the booking as she has people thinking it is her property and it is not so you need to take the name mellow house off the booking

Negative: The property is excellent but the parking is not signposted very well also the was a constant leak from the shower in the bathroom plus no handrails to get in and out of the shower my husband found it very difficult to get in and out off it
