About the Chalet:
Features: WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, hiking trails, world class climbing and ice climbing nearby, outdoor hydrotherapy tub for six, indoor jacuzzi for two.
Convenient: A one hour flight from LAX, San Francisco, and San Jose from December to April; a five-hour drive time from Los Angeles; under six hours from the Bay Area. Car rental services are available in Mammoth.
Lodging: Three individual rooms (with private bathrooms) in a giant log cabin; excellent kitchen; large oak bar. Fully furnished.
Sleeping: One queen and two California King memory foam beds. One pull out couch in loft. Sleeps 8 only. The 7th and 8th guests have an additional fee of $59 per person/per night.
Near Yosemite: Only 5.75 miles away as the crow flies.
Skiing: Less than a mile away, June Mountain offers 2580 vertical feet of ski terrain for all levels. World-class back country & cross country skiing are within easy reach. Experienced backcountry skiers can ski from the top of the mountain to the cabin’s hydrotherapy pool.

Summary: This log "cabin" is a large yet comfortable and homey residence perfectly located in June Lake for any mountain related activities. We found the access to skiing and the quaint village just right.

Summary: The home itself had a nice layout for 3 couples and in a pristine location. Spectacular views, but that’s really the only good things we can say. We had very poor communication from the property manager, Robert right from the get go. We literally sat in the driveway shortly before checkin still waiting for check in instructions. There was zero firewood for the two fireplaces (we were supposed to have the first night). The hot water knob on the sink in the master was broken off and the hot water in the Elsie bathroom didn’t work at all. There was a blood stain on the master bedding and used tissue on the floor on the master bath. Several light bulbs were burned out or missing completely. The dishwasher didn’t work . It just gave error messages so all dishes had to be washed by hand. The upper oven didn’t work either. The hot tub was warm the first day but then cold the second. The jets on it didn’t work at all. Robert the property manager, when he did communicate with us, finally got us some firewood on the third day and got an electrician to give some heat on the spa on the third day, but we got the impression he really didn’t care about the condition of the house. The house was obviously built in the early 80s and needs some serious updating. Read the previous reviews! We did not and finally did while we were there and saw similar reviews. We definitely would not recommend staying there unless you don’t mind lots of issues and poor communication from the host.

Summary: We loved the three separate rooms, each with it's own bathroom. The large kitchen and dining room were perfect for our needs. We also liked the "mudroom" to take off our boots after a long day of hiking and store them there with our hiking poles to keep the rest of the house clean. Having the nice laundry area was super important as we stayed almost a week and went through a lot of clothes hiking all day every day. Great place!

Summary: Not for website publication: The towels and sheets were washed with a very strong-smelling detergent that was difficult for may of us to tolerate. Switching to a scent-free detergent would be an easy fix.

Summary: Truly exceptional property that is a real treat to stay at. A bit dated in some aspects but truly a beautiful home built with gorgeous woodwork. We saw deer drinking from the stream every morning while having coffee on the deck and enjoyed the stars at night from the jacuzzi. Good idea to bring your own pillows and shower stuff (shampoo, conditioner, body wash).
