The ideal family location for winter and summer activities set in stunning mountainous scenery. This modern and recently renovated apartment is set up for our family, and has everything that you require for a comfortable stay. Big selling points are the football sized lawn and the patio, from which you enjoy amazing uninterrupted and private views of the Ariege mountains. The 12 m swiming pool sits in 1 hectare of parkland. The bedrooms are mezzanine and the beds are new and very comfortable. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the other bedroom has two singles and a futon. Downstairs we have a sofa bed for those extra guests. The kitchen is very modern and set up for fine dining. We have a large bath and shower in the modern bathroom, which has a separate toilet.

Summary: We had a more than lovely stay. We enjoyed the pool and the garden every day. The appartement is very complete and comfortable. Perfect place to discover the Pyrenees. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay longer, we still had more to discover. Good reason to come back!

Summary: Stepping into this charming apartment, we knew we had our own sanctuary, with its vaulted ceilings, spiral staircase and beautiful view of the gardens and swimming pool. Despite the 39° heat, it was cool indoors, we could relax straightaway. We enjoyed gentle walks around the nearby picturesque villages, and planned our short drives to Ax Les Thermes and Tarascon for the Tour de France. We saw the stunning mountaintop views in Ax Trois Domain and above the apartment at Plateau de Beille and went further afield to Foix, Andorra and Spain. A three-minute-walk down to the centre of Les Cabannes took us to the tourist office where very friendly staff recommended trips and places to eat. We ate very well at the two restaurants in the town square and at the cafe in the delightful boulangerie patisserie next to the post office. The walk to the pool, down the steps and through the trees, had the Chateau de Gaudanes as a marvellous backdrop, The swimming pool saved us from the intense heat, which topped 40° when we visited. The kitchen had everything to hand which made meal prep very easy and dining outside on the patio made for special family time. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and there were plenty of games, books and DVDs. The apartment was very comfortable; the beds in particular, we all slept very well and there was constant hot water for baths and showers. We will definitely book this apartment next summer and really hope it will be available when we know our dates. We can't wait to go back - it made our holiday.

Summary: The house, the garden, the scenery and environment all amazed me and my family. We had 3 stops divide over 2 weeks and for all us this was the most favorite place. You can relax in the garden, drive up the mountain, you are at the foot of plateau L'Abeille to see the stars at night, or do more adventuours things like canyoning, all is possible in the close area. Although the title of the house mentioned swimming pool, I did not see any pictures, it was a big bonus to have such a great pool in the garden. The beautiful villages, the walks and the history makes it a trip to never forgot. Thank you Colin and family for letting us use your great home. regards Maro

Summary: Just back from France and wanted to say thank you so much for the use of the apartment. I checked the guest book and I had indeed stayed as a guest back in June 2007 in the same apartment!! It was all I remembered and felt fantastic to be back in such a great apartment and beautiful surroundings. Rae was a great help welcoming us and recommending places to go. The apartment was well equipped and a haven to come back to each evening after our adventures. Relaxing on the patio wine in hand and views out of picture books!! Awesome to drive up the route of the mountain stage of the Tour de France - right on the doorstep, to the ski station at plateau de beille. We took one of the hiking routes up in the clouds and took in the spectacular Pyrenees views. The village Les Cabannes(5 mins walk) had a fantastic restaurant ( A La Montanha) that served wonderful local produce -a gem!! I hope to keep your details and would love to visit again sooner rather than later. Thanks again Andrea and Herman
