Positive: Its location is just near supermarket and local market, which is really convenient to travelers who need some supplements.

Negative: The management of the lodge wasn’t good and safe. Outsiders can come to the lodge during events, no matter on day or night time. But those who come to bar events can also share the public restrooms which is supposed for dorms, and even enter the private areas. People chatted and got drunk in front of our doors. It was really dangerous, and we even found a used condom in front of one room in one morning. No one told us any information about any events in advance, sometimes we also heard loud music at midnight and last for several hours until 3-4 o’clock in the early morning.

Summary: We spent 9 days, booked three rooms and one dorm bed in this lodge. Foods here are not bad. But if you wanna try some lo

Positive: Umunthu is in a great location, just a short walk from ShopRite and the markets. I've used this lodge regularly for transit nights in Mzuzu. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and the showers good.

Negative: It's not the most organised of places. There was no record of my booking when I got there, so it's just as well they had space for me.
