Montegiove is a lovely and peaceful medieval country village, close to the main communication lines and equidistant of Rome (154 km) and Florence (151 km), an ideal base for exploring the historical treasures of Umbria and Tuscany, such as Orvieto, Todi, Spoleto, Perugia and Siena.
The apartment is equipped with satellite television, high speed Internet connection, independent heating, laundry facilities and drying rack. The house is furnished in the traditional style of a central Italian manor house with a tasteful combination of antique and modern furniture.

Today, still family-owned, it is the centre of an estate covering nearly 3000 acres of beautiful Umbrian countryside, where oak forests, vineyards, olive fields and arable land blend in total harmony with ancient dry walls and farmhouses built of local stone.
The principal products of the estate are wine, olive oil, cereals, oil seeds, Chianina beef cattle, forage and forest products. There is abundant wildlife such as boar and deer, and the local flora including truffles and mushrooms.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rikke and Lorenzo take you back in time as you explore the Castello and the surrounding area. It is a true Italian experience that allows you to relax and enjoy authentic Italy. We have traveled through Italy many times, but we have fallen in love with Umbria now thanks to this lovely family and place.

Summary: La Cassetta is a small, but attractive apartment in a lovely, rural part of Umbria. Although the kitchen area is small, it is well equipped. Everything is newly decorated to a high standard and very clean. The apartment is located right next to the owners' castle and only a short, pleasant stroll to a fantastic infinity pool. The hosts, Lorenzo and Rikke, were excellent, treating us more like house guests than customers. Complementary wine and a few essentials made a lovely start to our time there. We would definitely recommend this and hope to return before long.

Summary: This comfortable apartment is newly renovated and has everything one could hope for. Classy, understated Danish influenced decor. Good bed! The hosts are wonderful, warm, bright people and we were given a gracious tour of the castle, its fascinating history, and a superb bottle of its wine. Be sure to stop when getting off the highway to shop for any food you need in Fabro COOP.flat has good coffee, milk and juice, a nice and thoughtful gift. Good small market in Montegabbione as well. Don't miss dinner at gatto giallo restaurant/agriturismo in Montegabbione. In summary: this is a fabulous VRBO and we would return there in a heartbeat and stay longer.

Summary: This apartment is lovely. The kitchen has everything you will need, the bathroom is fresh and well appointed. The bed is a little creaky but very comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed the castle tour and wine tasting. The whole apartment was very clean and a cot and high chair was provided for our 2 year old. We felt that the apartment was safe for our toddler. The WIFI was very good considering where this place is. The pool is very nice, it is almost a 10 minute walk away but this really didn't bother us at all as its a lovely walk around the castle with fabulous views. We were allowed to stay an extra night without any fuss and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. A beautiful, interesting and comfortable place to stay. We would highly recommend. Thank you very much Rikke and Lorenzo.
