Positive: The property overlooks a beautiful brook and is very clean within what is possible for an old cabin. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all the basics.

Negative: We arrived and some windows weren't closed, and a back door was unlocked.

Positive: Location is quiet and serene, price point was spot on for the area, comparable to any of the surrounding hotels but you get a whole house for the price. Yes it’s a rural area and you will have critters so get over it. Well appointed kitchen so you don’t need to eat out all the time. (And we forgot our stuff in the freezer) water comes from a well so keep your showers short city folks. Hot tub was divine especially in the morning with coffee.

Negative: The hired cleaning crew does the basics and not very good. Main entrance could use some sprucing up, door a little loose.

Summary: Would stay here again in a minute

Positive: Nice property with a stream. Safe for kids to play and wander outside.

Negative: Extremely buggy inside and out. Spiders in bunk room, and two wasp nests in the entry and the occasional wasp in the house. Owner makes mention to “conserve water” but it wasn’t clear that two adult showers would empty the tank. Learned the hard way with kids still needing to shower and to do a load of laundry.

Summary: Cute but very rustic cabin in a nice setting, needs some refinement to be recommendable.

Positive: Location was beautiful and serene. We truly enjoyed watching the snow fall outside the cabin during our stay. Bennington has a charming downtown and you can get everything you need within 10 minutes. Property is around 20-25 minutes from Williams College which was perfect for our needs during this trip.
